Stayed here for 2 nights for our anniversary in February having stayed last year before the wedding. The accommodation is basic but clean, comfortable and with some nice touches (hot water bottle). The pub is amazing, beautiful decor, great drinks and brilliant service. The gin class is really enjoyable and informative, and you get a lot of gin, and different... More

Went here for Sunday lunch and the place looks amazing but the food doesn't come close to what you expect, me and my partner both found the beef diners very poor and where very disappointed and also had to ask for new cutlery as the ones supplied were dirty. Would probably give the place a second chance but for our... More

We ate here on Monday night , it was delicious and to make things even better they have 200 different types of gin, the staff were good and the land lady really knew her gins, a very enjoyable evening was had by all.

[Dear TripAdvisor - I suggest you create a separate page solely for the PUB] The family popped in for a pre-Christmas blast of yummy food and beer, and as ever on the whole we weren't disappointed. One of the draws of this pub is they allow dogs, and seeing as we had two that was a tick in the box.... More

This Pub/Restaurant/Hotel is HOT HOT HOT. Proves the point, that if you deliver something unique, and good, people will support you. This place was packed from the moment we arrived to the morning we left. We went for their unique GIN TASTING EXPERIENCE. Wow, what a surprise. First impressions of the place are excellent. Modern, olde worlde, different, quirky, unique.... More

I've passed the pub a number of times driving to my parents but was lucky to stop off to see friends before Christmas. Considering it was a Monday afternoon it was heaving, which may have contributed to the slow service. The gin menu is great and was lovely to try different types from all around the world. The food was... More

We turned up here for Saturday lunch. Very cosy pub with a roaring fire. Staff very friendly. Got a table straight away. Food delicious. Beer, I chose the Cholmondley Best, was excellent. Will definitely return.

Comfy beds, room pleasantly decorated in a modern country style, well-equipped. We were attending a wedding at nearby Iscoyd Park which worked well location-wise. Decent breakfast, lovely staff. Bathroom could do with being a bit more swish, but was clean and everything worked.

If you like your hot food served cold, your mash potatoes prepared in a food processor and made into gloop and your vegtables so raw you can't stick your folk into them then you will LOVE this!!! Such a shame because the pub, beer, gin and most of the staff are terrific.

Ended up here by chance, as our favourite Cheshire pub with rooms (The Bear's Paw at Warmingham) was fully booked. But what a find! Converted from an old schoolhouse, the pub/restaurant space is dramatic to say the least. Ceilings go up to the rafters, walls are the lovely russet local brick, tables marble and chunky wood, open fires, strings of... More
