Hotel was lovely for kids and location is great. Only problem we had at meal times was 10 pieces of cutlery per person at each meal. We sat at the same table that they advised 10 times during our stay but they still laid the table even for small children. 40 pieces of cutlery on the table for us 4.... More

I cannot fault the hotel , there is lots to do for the family , walks in the neighborhood and brilliant buffet style food. It is great value for money as you get to eat as much as you like, we travelled with 2 small children and they had dinner early 5:30 in the restaurant and at 7pm had a... More

Having enjoyed previous visits with overseas guests I was anxious to share the experience with a UK visitor. Everything from booking to welcoming us on arrival was handled smoothly and we were even greeted by the restaurant manager who remembered me from a visit four years ago. We had a lovely mountain-facing room which had all the facilities expected of... More

The setting is fabulous and the hotel is very tastefully laid out in the most beautiful grounds. The room was a good size, as was the bathroom, and the view of the Drakensburgs from our window and patio was stunning. Staying here felt like a real treat and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wanted to spend time... More

The setting of the hotel is superb, with unrivalled views of the Drakensberg mountains. At times the hotel feels more like a zoo due to various animals and birds everywhere. We had a shock one morning when 2 baboons entered our room from the balcony - we were one floor up from the ground! And I was totally naked after... More

This was an ideal spot for a family gathering: some drove down from Johannesburg while others came from Durban. We were given our own extended table in the dining room, with special table decorations on the Saturday night when we celebrated Granny's 90th birthday. The buffet was superb, the staff friendly and efficient, and the setting is simply stunning.

This is one hotel aptly named beyond the fact it lies at the foot of Champagne castle, a Drakensberg landmark, in that this is exactly where you would want to be to celebrate a special occasion. when it comes to the old adage of location, location, location - the breathtaking views complimented by a long sparkling blue swimming pool and... This is a first class hotel, the warm welcome and check-in process was hassle free, and the rooms were clean and modern - highly recommend choosing one of the downstairs mountain view rooms. The food was delicious and plentiful - largely meat and heavy foods - but a few salad options. Lots of walks nearby but great to sit by... More

We have stayed at a few places in the 'Berg and this was by far the best. The rooms are more than acceptable, with a spacious bathroom (with separate shower) and a veranda/balcony. The rooms are cleaned twice a day and the cleaners conveniently come in during meal times. The only criticism of the room is that the bed is... More

This hotel is typical of the family hotels that used to be all over SA. Bed and all meals included in the price. The staff are super friendly and kind. I sort of knocked over my G&T when room service brought it to my room taking it from the tray and it smashed on the tile floor. No problem, she... More
