The most breathtaking location - awesome views all around including the front window/door/patio of our lodge. Terrific area for walking or just enjoying the beauty of creation all around you. Lodges are externally of a unique design and appealing. Inside, ours was dated and tired, poor quality fixtures and fittings but clean. Restaurant was ok, staff were excellent. I got... More

The camp is located in an amazingly beautiful valley. We received a room without a view which was very disappointing. The room with a kitchen a very handy if you intend to make some meals yourself as it is equipped with everything except a oven.

welcome to Shire. Such an amazing nature experience, with the rooms facing west so you have a perfect sunset on the porch. Unfortunately, the restaurant athmosphere does not fit into this picture since it is too big and the food max. average (1 point minus). But do not forget, you do not pay 300€ a night!!!

The place looks awesome first time saw it but when you spend few hours there you realize some inconvenients you don't see at a very first sight. There are amazing views from there, the surrondings are really awesome and you can enjoy all them by walk, there are many routes hiking starting in the Didima. The staff is also kind... More

We had a lovely stay at Didima, although I think our company had a lot to do with it. The venue could not be more picturesque, however, the lodge is in definite need of updating. The self catering facilities we severely lacking in equipment (knives, forks, basic stuff) and the roofs leaked when it rained. It was boiling hot when... More

Didima has us coming back year after year because there is no other accommodation option that is so well priced (in the budget segment) and that offers so much for what you pay! It is snuggly nestled right in the Drakensberg Mountains and has the most breathtaking views, about a 2 and a half to 3 hours drive away from... More

My partner and I spent 3 days (26-29 Dec 2014) at Didima and were horribly disappointed! Location and scenery spectacular but the facilities at Didima need serious upgrading. The linen is yellowed from age with press-studs on the duvet absent leaving a gaping ,hanging mess at the foot of the bed. The curtains were filthy and torn in places. The... More

Lovely getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city life . Camp is a bit rustic and u may want to carry some of your own utensils . Well kept rooms . Neat bedrooms . Hot water was a problem though ,the showers not the best. The scenary makes up for everything though . Awesome views of the mountain... More

The accomodation and location is great. The view is fantastic and the lodges are really cute. But otherwise, the place hasn't much to offer. Activities were almost impossible to arrange (we had to ask around for two days, no one at the "activities desk"). The breakfast which was supposed to be included was virtually absent so we had to order... More

This camp was really different from all the others we stayed during our journey in South Africa. The houses are fully equipped with a kitchen and do have very high ceilings. There is an opportunity for barbeque, the nearby restaurant is okay, nothing special. The surroundings of Didima Camp are fantastic and it is a good starting point for hikes.... More
