What I can say about my stay at this place is just relaxing and heart warming and beautiful. Nice food, beautiful rooms, wonderful staff. But I think to top its its the environment and where the Hotel is situated right beneath the Drankensburg Mountains. Stayed there for days they have plenty of activities to keep one busy. I am recommending... More

We have just returned from a night at Cathedral Peak and were completely blown away from the time we arrived to departure. We are out from London planning our wedding which we are having in April at the hotel and could not feel more excited and relaxed. Christelle from the Banqueting department has provided us with world class service from... More

We recently travelled to Kwa-Zulu Natal and spent 2 nights in the famous mountain area, the Drakensberg. These majestic mountains rise out of the African plains surrounding them and are awe-inspiring in their height and beauty. The clear blue skies of Africa are a perfect backdrop to the ruggedness of Champagne Castle, the mountain range which stands behind the beautiful... More

I am ambivalent about this place. Overall it is a stunning hotel with amazing views, spread out enough that you can have space, and the stream soothes the ears of city dwellers. Breakfast and dinner are great, with good variety. The croissants were crispy and crunchy, so were the Yorkshire puddings. There's enough for kids to do and you feel... More

This time, considering the rainy weather, we decided to book and stay in a hotel versus camping, so using the opportunity of the 2 days school holiday at the last weekend of November, we reserved and spent 3 nights in the hotel with the family. Our experience was overall positive, the hotel location is perfect to start shorter and longer... More

The location of this place is stunning and even though the mountains were shrouded in mist during our stay and it rained, we still could not help to be impressed by magnificent vistas and the vision of Albert van de Reit who brought this place to life. The history fascinated me and understanding the origins and the journey of the... More

Like the destination resorts of times gone by ( Catskills, Poconos, Rockies) this a jewel in the Drakensberg. Outstanding buffets morning and evening and coffee klutch midday. A long list of activities, trails, childcare and the ambiance of leisure. An intriguing drive in and out for day trips and secure parking covered or not. The hospitality, service and accommodations soothe... More

We stayed at this hotel for three nights in October. When we initially booked, I was concerned about whether we would get value for our money, seeing it was a bit more pricey than what we would ordinarily pay. I can reassure you, it was worth every cent. Cathedral Peak Hotel does indeed provide you with a four star experience.... More

But, having aleady paid o get intot he national park, we were shocke when staff attemted to charge us an additional fee to enter the hotel grounds.
