Tiny rooms. Open toilet area into room. No privacy for showering. Air-con didn't work. Flies in room. Fridge didn't work. Nightmare. Oh, and the bar is expensive. The breakfast looked mediocre. Also it looked like a building site and is hard to find. Fine for getting in and out of Brussels.

We didn't know what to except and we got a very pleasant surprise. The staff was very helpful, breakfast was very nice and most of all the rooms were amazing. The rooms are designed in a way which reminds you of the building's previous purpose - prison. We choose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport and we... More

I had to work in the area and originally booked a Brussels hotel but had to move when advised on the cost of taxis. I feared being stuck out in Vilvoorde would make me go stir crazy BUT this hotel is comfortable enough to make it worth it. It has a rather unique feel being a converted prison, but don't... More

Quick review 1.75 euro for a nice hotel in Europe is ok. 2.Apparently a chain of them but has more charm then a Holiday Inn or similar chain. 3. Only serve breakfast--pastries, breads, cereals, eggs, bacon, cheese, cold meat, some fruit, yogurt. Basic but fine 4. Don't have their own restaurant for room service or lunch/dinner-plenty of places to eat nearby... More

Nice hotel, really friendly staff, big and comfortable room (family room) and good breakfast. We spent a week there and were very happy. However, when my husband went to pay the bill he saw that they charged 3 euros for a tea bag.... (6 euros for 2) They didn't even had to make the tea. I went downstairs and asked... More

This is a very unusual hotel. It is a former prison and alot of the original features are still intact. It has been transformed into a very comfortable business hotel with easy access to the commercial area. It is very quiet with pristine rooms which are absoultely perfect for the business traveller. Excellent bathroom with everything you could wish for.... More

Stayed for a night, what a great building. Very interesting and quirky place to stay. Room very modern and super quiet considering the location. Brilliant night's sleep, free WiFi, decent breakfast with great coffee (always a plus point). Liked the way the history of the building was stitched into the modern aspects of the hotel.

We just spent one night there. The building is 300 years old, was a penitentiary then an army barracks, then was transformed into an hotel. Some parts of the original buildings are still being worked on. The room was small, beds were comfortable, staff were pleasant and breakfast was varied and of good quality. The price was ok, considering the... More

The Lodge is a former workhouse, converted into a comfortable hotel and an experience, therefore! From the outside you can still see some of the "cell" windows and, on my first visit, my room told me that as an inmate your window would only be 10cm x 30cm or the like. Needless to say, the hotel rooms are not so... More

I like this hotel. It is not spectaular, but it is not trying to be. It does the basics very well, and was convenient for me as I needed both the airport, and also to drive from Brussels to Luxembourg. The breakfast was nice, the rooms were clean and spacious, the WiFi was free and worked well. Overall, a good... More
