We stayed at the Campanile for one night en route to a family ski holiday in the Alps. The restaurant was perfectly adequate for our requirements and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and breakfast the following morning (although it was a little pricey). The bedroom was small but clean and tidy. Easy to find off the A6 and very quiet.

We knew upfront that staying at a Campanile hotel couldn't be an exciting experience: there you couln't find luxury furmiture or cozy spaces, but...... at least the room should not be smelly and if one one of the heater is (as the congierge candidly admitted) switched off because not compliant with european regulations, better to remove it, else the customer... We stayed in the Campanile, Avalon for 2 nights in the month of June. The hotel is situated by the edge of Avalon. Two other hotels are right beside it. One is the sister hotel from the Louvre Hotel Group – the Première Classe (similar to the Formula 1 hotels of Accor). And across the street is a privately owned... More

We have stayed in many Campanile hotels over the years, but this was one of the worst. Amenities and service had been pared down to a minimum. The rooms were clean and beds excellent as usual, but in every other way our stay was very disappointing. We booked for an evening meal but information on the menu was very inadequate.... More

Exterior very unprepossessing with peeling paintwork, chipped concrete staircase and badly maintained verges. The room key did not work and had to be reprogrammed. There was no wi fi in any of the rooms. The room itself was too small for the large bed one side of which was right up against the wall. Although we had booked half-board we were... More

The photos online showed nice comfy-looking beds in a reasonably spacious room. The front of the building was fine, service was a bit frosty, but at the back where the rooms are, the amount of rats sent scurrying by us was fairly shocking, the entrance to their tunnels were obvious and right next to the path, so it's not like... This very inexpensive motel-like hotel was much nicer than others of the same chain we've stayed in. The rooms were larger and very quiet. Free parking right by the room made us feel secure. The large lot meant that there was little road noise. The staff was friendly and efficient. It was very close to the town.
