As previous reviewers have said, the hotel is trying to provide a good experience at a fair price. The room was spacious and well equipped; didn't use the bar or wifi, but breakfast was good. Reception was over-pressed, but that's a sign of the times. If you're heading up north, it's a good stop-off, only five minutes from the A1. More

It really is a nice location with a big garden and probably great for weddings. The room was comfortable with free wifi and a decent telly. Food was under par - basic pub food but either under orovercooked. The bar is OK but ther is nowhere else to sit and relax. More

A very good value stay for the money we paid for the evening and great breakfast ! Really could be 4* with a few tweaks and lovely grounds ! only down side was the poor shower, but room just as good as other local 4* hotels More
