There seems to be a dearth of hostels in Salto, so we didn't have a lot of options. We picked del Jardin because of its location in the center and its relatively cheap price (1000 pesos for private room with bath, which isn't exactly cheap if you're not comparing it to the spas and resorts of the area). We stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting the hot springs and it was a decent enough place. Location-wise, it's cracking: very near the port, centre and bus stop to the springs. Hostal del Jardin is close to the center, only a 5 minutes walk to the main plaza. We had a double room with private bathroom, which was not the cleanest one but okay. Breakfast is not included, but the rooms have a fridge, so that you can buy your own breakfast and eat it in the small, cosy garden. It's... More
