As a reasonably regular visitor to the Gosport / Holmrook part of Cumbria I have stayed in the Lutwidge on many occasions. Over the past few years Eleanor and Mick have transformed the hotel through their refurbishment programme. The bedrooms are now very modern and comfortable with ensuite bathrooms. The lounge and bar areas have been reinvigorated with the light... More

We were greeted by friendly bar staff and shown to our table in the conservatory. This hotel has been done up, it's lovely! Nice and clean with a nice atmosphere. The food was lovely. I had mushrooms to start and then half a chicken, it was a large portion, very tasty. The vegetables came separate in a bowl to share.... More

Have stayed here once before some time ago. Even better room this time, large with good views. However this room is next to the main road, but this is West Cumbria, so it is not busy, but be prepared for traffic early-ish in the morning. Dinner and breakfasts good and cooked to order. Friendly welcome. Very comfortable bed.

Absolutely first class food. Excellent quality and portions with very good menu selection. Conservatory dining area very modern and tasteful with pleasant, friendly staff. Definitely one to visit for a meal. I'm going back, without a shadow of a doubt.

Lutwidge Arms was a perfect location for walking in the mountains of the Lake district, it was also close to the coast. We were met as we entered the hotel by the owner Mike who showed us to our room quickly and efficiently in order for us to get back to the bar to watch the rugby. There were areas... More

The main building public rooms appeared to have been recently refurbished to a high standard. We were in the annex across the courtyard. This was not so luxurious but more than adequate with no problems. The meals were very good and reasonably priced so we were not tempted to look outside. The building is a public house with what appears... More

We have just returned home from a 4 night stay, it was supposed to be 2 but we had such a lovely time we stayed longer. The room was very clean and comfortable with lovely views across the Cumbria hills, breakfast superb and dinner every night could not be faulted. good selection of wine at very reasonable prices.

Our stay was for one night, a Saturday night. It was easy to find with ample parking off road. We had room three which was spacious, well decorated and had a comfortable settee. The bathroom again was spacious with complementary shower gel etc. The traffic outside on the road didn't disturb our nights sleep, sadly the noise from the bar... More
