Stayed at campsite for a weekend with my girlfriend which we chose out of pure luck. We were located approx 2metres from the calming noise of the river which was fantastic unless you woke up in the night then gave you a slight urge to use the bathroom .George the owners dog happily wanders around site like security usually seen... Nice site overall, however we stayed bank holiday weekend and the site really was cramped. No space in between and at one point really blocked in with a tent and car that had been squeezed between our caravan and someone elses caravan, would return but definitely not during a bank holiday. We have had far better pitch sizes and a... More

This campsite is a little gem. Lovely location and the owners have great pride in it making sure that everything is working well for their visitors. We were lucky enough to camp on the edge of the bank so listening to the birds and the flowing stream was perfect. It was fairly quiet when we were there 04th June and... More

We arrived on the Tuesday after bank holiday, it was very busy and had to pitch on a slope as the two other available pitches were a bit boggy. It seemed that the tents were all too close together really for comfort. The owner didn't seem to remember anything that we had discussed by email and said I'd not paid... More

The Old Post Office camp site is a great place to visit and stay. Great for the kids who loved playing in the river, and with George the dog who is great with the kids. The owner is a great chap very helpful with advice. Site as free Wifi as well

Although I was with three friends, this is a great site for families with tents, caravans or motor homes as well as couples and independents. This small site, bordered by a stream has good basic facilities that are clean and tidy and are good for a site of this size. The owner was on hand to recieve visitors and gave... More

The Old Post Office campsite is the perfect base for an expedition to Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England. The owner is unfailingly friendly and helpful, and the nearby Bridge Inn is the final piece in the jigsaw. Single Step Tours will be back!

Visited the campsite in my trusty vw campervan with my girlfriend. The owner was a nice chap, full of advice and a laid back character. Had hoped to catch some trout in the River where it runs through the site, but as I soon found out, there are no trout in the River at this point so leave your rod... More

Second visit to this small peaceful site in West Cumbria. Pitched by the river with plenty of room for our tent extension. The owner keeps the site very clean and tidy. showers have plenty of hot water and are clean. There is a pub just over the bridge and a tea room clise by. Lovely site to relax and unwind.

A gem of a campsite in a superb location, toilet / shower block was always kept clean and tidy through out my stay and the campsite was immaculate, excellent tent pitches along the river bank and a good size too, friendly owners and were always willing to give advice about the local area....oh and not forgetting George the meet and...
