A friend and I decided to spend the new year in the lake district and we stayed at the Bridge Inn. Very friendly staff who helped us to plan walks and arranged for a guide to take us out for the day. We had dinner in the restaurant on New Years Eve which was great value for money. Rooms are... More

Where to start, firstly I hate people who blatenly lie. Table in the bar booked weeks ago. When requested was told "yeah no problem if you want to be sat in the bar" Arrived and was told they don't reserve tables in the bar. I looked round to see the bar full of "reserved" signs everywhere, pointed this out to... More

We took a week-end trip to the Western Lakes in a vintage car and stayed here over Saturday night. It would be difficult to fault this place on any aspect. We arrived very early in the day but in spite of this were given access to our room immediately. This proved very convenient as we had been travelling in an... More

Stayed at the bridge inn again at the weekend on a 3 night weekend deal. Still a lovely place to stay in a great location. Had fantastic weather and great views of and on the mountains. The bridge inn is an old quait inn, the food is a little pricey but excellent quality. The floors squeak and groan and it... More

We stayed here for three nights recently, the room was clean and bright and well equipped with kettle, tea and coffee etc. the only thing missing was a chair but one was quickly provided when we asked. Also we had the best nights sleep we have ever had in a hotel it was so quiet at night. All of the... More

Stayed here for two nights while on a walking weekend. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They offered to put wet walking gear in the boiler room to dry which was kind of them. I had a single room which had rather dreary brown decor but was otherwise comfortable, clean and functional. The small ensuite had a good modern shower... More

Well, this was my 7th stay at this Jewel In The Lakes. We visited in October 2014 after being married here in August 2013. Since then we've been back for New Year 2013, our Anniversary in August this year and again - October. The remaining visits were before then. Accepting that we are all different - I still fail to... Stayed a couple of days for a nearby wedding. Evening meal in the bar was good and the ambience fine. However, breakfast was sparse and disappointing and the room we had was in need of an overhaul. Staff pleasant and helpful.
