The setting is idyllic; peaceful & scenic - an ideal place to relax. Massimo & Monica made us feel very welcome the whole time we were there. The food is simple but delicious, largely locally sourced, much of it home grown. This is an ideal place to stay to visit the local area & the vibrant local town of Citta’... More

For us this was a perfect place to stay from start to finish! The owners are really friendly and helpfull without being to present. The whole environment is authentic and cosy. Rooms are big and clean. You can eat lunch or dinner there if you just ask.

From the moment the gates swing open on the lavender lined drive and you are welcomed by Massimo and Monica, you are treated like friends. If you choose to eat at Tenuta il Casone the food is delicious, simple, home-cooked fare using locally grown produce, but you can also rely on your hosts to recommend places to visit and eat... More

The Italian word for treasure is tesoro and "Tenuta il Casone" certainly is one of the most wonderful hidden tesoros Umbria has to offer. We have to admit that we did struggle to find it: We arrived in the middle of the night and all the big gateways in a long road full of hairpin turns seemed to look the... More

This is a perfect place to stay with children. We were welcomed warmly by Monica, Massimo, and their two children. We arrived on the day of my daughter's birthday and Monica had dinner ready, and a non-dairy birthday cake for my daughter, replete with candles and a gift. We stayed in the cottage which was lovely and extremely comfortable. The... More

One has to be foolish to stay elsewhere, if they are within the driving vicinity of Tenuta Il Casone. The place is magical: a beautify finished house with outstanding layout and decorations residing on a scenic lot overlooking meadows and mountains. Every morning you'd thank yourself for choosing the place, as you wake up and see sun rising over mountains... More

This is a wonderful agriturismo with extremely welcoming, helpful hosts. We stayed in the dependence, which was great for our family. Plenty of space for the kids to kick a soccer ball and play with dogs, plus beautiful woods just behind the house to walk off our hearty Umbrian lunches. Breakfast was delicious with home- baked bread, cakes & preserves... More

We stayed 4 nights at Tenuta Il Casone in mid-September and can't recommend this place enough. Monica and Massimo were so welcoming and helpful. We were sick and had a sick baby with us and they helped find us a pediatrician in Citta della Pieve - we were so grateful. We ate their lovely home cooked meals most nights. The... More

We have just stayed 10 days in the tis wonderful agriturismo. Location is just perfect, quite but not too far away from all nice places in Umbria and Tuscany. Great hospitality... Monica and Massimo really do everything to give you a wonderful stay. Dinner is nice and not expensive. We even bought their vegatables and eggs for lunch. The whole... More

By booking a Vespa arrangment we stayed at this wonderful agriturismo. It is really everything you expect from a B&B whit almost full hotel service and accomodations. Beautiful spacious rooms, great garden and a marvelous swimming pool. The hosts Monica & Massimo makes you feel more than welcome as if you are 'good friends' of them... the breakfast is great... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The holiday farmhouse is located four kilometres from Città della Pieve, the birthplace of il Perugino, Raffaello’s teacher. The estate has an extension of about twenty hectares and is part of a protected area. Tenuta il Casone is composed of eleven hectares of sumptuous woods and nine hectares of arable land - targeting organic crops - and it is surrounded by small waterways. Privileged position, with a 360 degrees view on the surrounding landscape, the long and elegant access avenue, the presence of secular oaks and the silence, broken only by small wildlife that lives in the woods, are the main characteristics of the estate. ... more   less
