I stayed here again this week during my travels to the North East & Teeside. As usual, the welcome and hospitality and of the friendliest anywhere you go in my mind! The perfect relaxation after an arduous day, or, better still, a 20 mile cycle on the road-bike over a deserted back-road to Hawnby was the tonic! I saw one... More

Comfortable accommodation, and pleasant staff, but the showers were very temperamental, and I gave up in the end. I stayed in the flat, the bedroom would have been very cramped for two people, and the noise from the bar came directly upstairs. Also this would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems, as there were two lots of steps to... More

Good food. Check your bill. We were charged for seven covers when there were only five of us. Overcharged by £30 on a (correct) bill of £124. This equates to an error in the hotel's favour of 24%. Be very aware.

Slightly upset about the hygiene issues. Blatantly keeping a metal spoon in the uncovered mayo. When asked about it a member of staff stood in front of the 'wrongness' we was asked us to leave. We are kitchen trained and would love to hear your reply as to why skipping basic hygiene practices?

On a wet, windy and thoroughly unpleasant evening we dined at The Three Tuns. We were given a warm friendly welcome and shown to our table. Pros - Pleasing décor, friendly professional service, excellent food with beautiful presentation Our party of four all selected different courses. The food comments applied to all of them. Cons - The village is small,... More

We had booked this way back at beginning of January 2014 due to not enjoying previous New Years Eve, the staff delivered what we needed a lovely relaxed New Years Eve with a lovely sit down meal with champagne cocktails & canapes to start. My friend who doesn't eat butter was catered for very well after asking if certain foods... More

Fantastic accommodation in this family run business We had family visiting recently and needed accommodation for a family of 2 adults and three children. It was suggested the 'apartment' at the Three Tunns would be the most suitable option - and it was ! The staff couldn't do enough to ensure our family stay was stress free and very welcoming... We had lunch here as a family and it was child friendly. The food was fairly traditional country fare, I had rabbit pie, and was delicious. Service was good though slightly slow bu the food was worth waiting for.
