Stayed here whilst doing coast to coast. A bit off route but worth it for the quality of the place (plus you're a mile and a climb further on the next day). The room I stayed in was large and comfortable. But the best thing was the excellent and imaginative food. WiFi was a bit iffy in the room, but... More

We spent one night at this B&B and also had an evening meal. The room price was £95 and the meal (starter and main) cost £50. When booking the accommodation I informed the woman (she didn't introduce herself) that we were celebrating a 'special' occasion. Well, I might as well have told her I had ran over my neighbour's cat... More

Went for a family meal which was nicely cooked but I'm afraid being charged top dollar prices for only pub food is a bit of a let down. The drink prices are shocking which spoils the experience. The corridor leading to the toilets is one of the worst I have ever seen.

This was my 4th visit to the Golden Lion, and as always first class, lovely friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and great food all in a friendly warming atmosphere. You need to remember it is a pub, do that and it is a great stay - highly recommended.

We like Osmotherley very much and have enjoyed several B&B breaks in the village over the last 15 years. Each visit has included an enjoyable meal at The Golden Lion and we have always promised ourselves an overnight stay should we ever just be passing. Well, the occasion arose last weekend as our football team (Kidderminster Harriers) had been drawn... More

I stayed at the Golden Lion during a December 2013 visit to Osmotherly. The location of the B&B is great, right in Osmotherly and close to hiking trails. When I arrived I was greeted by friendly and helpful staff, and based on my initial impressions I expected my stay to be pleasant. I was provided a room key and told... More

We initally booked a room here in November for our wedding anniversary, as keen walkers we planned an 8 mile hike around the area but unfortunately we got lost (husbands fault) so decided to come back in December to complete the walk. We had a fabulous time on both occasions, the food was delicious to say the least, and very... More

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel. The room was modern and excellent - the food truly delicious, breakfast and dinner. A lovely, friendly, warm and welcoming place to stay! Can recommend without hesitation.

This really is a very fine hotel. The rooms are large and superb - all seems newly redeveloped, or refurbished, or something, up there and what you get is a lovely sort of "modest luxury", if that makes sense. Very classy, maybe a bit of a Scandinavian feel? Lots of wood and nice lighting; superb bathroom. The landlord kindly let... More

We booked to stay here as my husband runs in a ultra race that is held in Osmotherly every year. The room was stayed in was lovely and we had our own separate door to come and go as we pleased. The shower was fantastic and one of the best I've ever had. The food - well there isn't a... More
