We were a large group, taking up the whole of the hostel for the weekend and consisting of young and old ones, males and females. Our organisers had sorted out the bedroom accommodation into suitable groups and the rooms appeared to be clean and perfectly functional for our needs. The large self catering kitchen is excellent and easily catered for... More

We booked the entire Mill for a group families for a weekend away. This is our second year and we can't fault it. The building is clean and the staff are excellent. The breakfast and evening meals provided were amazing and really good value.

Well what can I say about this little gem of a site , there is nothing you can fault , it's clean, safe, friendly and beautiful I read some negative reviews on here I somewhat think a comment made about getting kicked off is probably due to being very noisy as sometimes you get on all sites but it only... We stayed a night whilst on the coast to coast walk & have stayed here previously. The hostel has a fantastic location and very friendly & accommodating staff. We had a large room in the annexe with heating ( not that it was required) and windows that opened- something I always appreciate. We enjoyed a great evening meal & meeting... More

We have used this campsite for a number of years now and love it! The owners and their team are extremely friendly and helpful and the modern facilities are perfect. The site is maintained to a very high level and the showrs blocks are always immaculately clean. Wi-fi is good and relatively cheap. The small on-site shop has all the... More

The location of this hostel is wonderful and this was a second visit. It is basic but clean and the staff are friendly. We self catered and found everything we needed in the kitchen. I did feel that £50 per night for a room was rather expensive as it was small, not ensuite, had no reading light or power by... More

Relates to Cote Ghyll Mill Dear Hilary, Thanks for choosing to stay with us again. We are engaged in a long term program of improvements at Cote Ghyll Mill Youth Hostel. Reading lights and recharging points are already on our list of things to do. Osmotherley village is a very popular destination and at £49.50 for a 2 bed room... More

Stayed for five nights over the Bank Holiday to use as a base for exploring and walking the surrounding countryside with our dog! Osmotherley is easily reached but follow the campsite advice on the road to take into the village especially if you are towing a caravan! Arrived late afternoon and greeted in the reception / shop by the owner... More

Last minute booking. Had 2 lovely nights at Côte Ghyll. It's right on our doorstep and this was our first visit. Lovely site, very clean and beautiful location. Free showers, which were spotless, also able to plug in own hair dryer for free. Staff were very friendly and eager to help, although really wish they could have found us a... More

Relates to Cote Ghyll Caravan and Camping Park Dear Donna Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. The fresh bread service operated from Cote Ghyll Mill was a new idea for this summer and has been extremely popular. It looks like this service is here to stay. Jonathan Hill More

As per all the other reviews, this is a lovely site, clean well maintained, good facilities and beautiful location. The play areas and stream make it a great place for kids to enjoy so it's really geared up for families. However, if you dont have children with you, you might want to think about booking somewhere else. One of the... More

Relates to Cote Ghyll Caravan and Camping Park Dear Sophia Thanks for your fair comments. We do try to offer peace and quiet but our guests, and the atmosphere on the park, vary with the seasons. Most of the season is dominated by quiet couples when the only sound you’ll hear is birdsong. For the summer weekends and in school... More
