We (3 of us) booked rooms at the Queen Catherine as a resting place at the end of an East to West crossing of the Lyke Wake Walk. For £35 per person per night it couldn't have been better! It has a great range of beers and lagers, which is heaven after a 40 mile walk. The rooms were basic... More

We stayed here after completing the Lyke Wake Walk, Osmotherley being the start/ end point of the walk. The pub was very homely and decorated with local and walk memorabilia which was very welcoming. Crowd seemed to be a good mix of visitors, walkers and locals and they have good beers on tap. Our room was comfortable and although not... More

The food was always good and excellent value but since a new regime in the kitchen the food is literally going from strength to strength!! Can't recommend enough especially the Steaks ..... Great food sensible prices and friendly village drinking hole highly recommended

We booked the Queen Catherine by default when trying to find a dog friendly hotel near to Mount Grace Priory. We were to attend an open air event at that venue and never having been to Osmotherley we had no idea what to expect. We didn't have great expectations as the cost per person per night was only £35 inc... More

It was well over an hour from when we arrived here till we were served with food, but it was well worth the wait. The bar area and the restaurant area is clean and cosy and the welcome friendly. It was busy and there seemed to only be one bar person and one waitress, both of whom seemed rushed off... More

We at there one friday evening and it was very disappointing. Our simple order took ages to arrive, at least 30 minutes. When I went to ask why it was taking so long I was spoken to in a rather condescending, "you'll get it when it's ready" way. The food was poor, just bland with obviously very little effort having... We visited in June and found the location of the pub to be great the service was good and staff friendly a nice little pub. We ate in the restaurant which again was pleasant and the food simple but tasty. Would recommend for a quiet drink or a meal both enjoyable and relaxed setting

Stayed for three nights in June when I was taking part in 31-mile group walk on the North Yorkshire Moors. The room was pleasant and very clean. The staff were friendly. The food was fine; unpretentious menu with good value home cooked food. There was a good choice of real ales in the bar, which had both local drinkers and... More

A lovely little hotel with a warm welcome and good value. Good range of ales. The breakfast was very nice indeed and just the ticket for our twenty plus mile walk to the lion inn at blakey. The bedroom size, shower and tea and facilities were also good.
