The food was awesome and the menus were well thought out. The rooms are somewhat spacious with a beautiful view of the ocean especially those on first floor. The staff were really great, helpful and very honest. I dropped some jewelry somewhere within the hotel grounds and when I asked at the reception, after combing the whole place it was... More

Checked into Hemingways after being displeased with our stay at a Hotel nearby. It was a refreshing change. The rooms are spacious and meticulously cleaned. The food was good and the staff extremely friendly. The kids loved the water based activities, snorkeling, kayaking and wind surfing and there is plenty of activity in Watamu and Malindi area. Get a guide... More

Lovely food, a beautiful setting and charming, helpful and efficient service. What more could one ask for! Sadly not many people there to enjoy it at the moment - urge everyone to visit! It is a traditional hotel, the rooms are extremely comfortable, and the setting is ideal. The beach is beautiful and the beach boys friendly and not overwhelming... More

The location of this resort is breathtaking. The white sandy beach is an amazing view as you take lunch. The service was really great. The meals were decent. Hemingways have been praised for their burgers, we tried it. The beef was not so great but it was better than many.

Whilst our stay was short our experience was amazing !! Hemingways is where you just leave the stress and strain of living at the door and step into serenity and relaxation ..... The warm waters of the Indian Ocean lap away at the end of the stunning gardens and decking areas .... The views are truly amazing and both Sunrise... More

I stayed here a few days, coming to swim with wild dolphins. It is a great resort, on the warm Indian ocean, one hour flight from Nairobi's Wilson airport (via Lamu). Great place, very English, High tea at 4pm included and a good restaurant. Many sport fishermen come here (there was a group of South African sport fishermen when I... More

The year had taken a beating on me. I wanted to take a break with my daughter and chose Hemingways, Watamu as the destination. We really did enjoy the ambience, the warm and friendly staff and most of all the cool breeze from the Indian Ocean. The waves are as calming as they come and go. Though the capacity was... More

Overall, I would say this hotel in fairly average. My partner and I stayed here a few months ago for a friend's wedding. Upon arrival I was offered a damp towel and a welcome drink - a good start! The room was spacious and clean but the water coming from the taps was brown - especially in the sink. We... More

Dear Yesdnyl, Thank you for your comments; constructive criticisms are always helpful in enabling us to improve our services for the future. We would however like to provide you with some feedback. The glass windows are reflective in all of our rooms and so unless a person comes right up to the window and peers inside from less than a... More

Enormous bathroom and with high quality toiletries. very polite, well trained and experienced staff. Check in and check out was quick. Ill be back very... More

We loved the room we were in. The beach in front of the hotel is amazing (though the one just north in the cove is even better). The grounds are well kept and the service is generally pretty good. Our big disappointment was in the food. There were some meals that were good, but I can't call any of them... More
