We rented the 2 bedroom. Exceptionally clean, supplied with all amenities, cottage feel. The staff were kind and helpful, and the amenities on site were wonderful. Our unit was outfitted with a kitchen including a microwave, fridge and stove. Dishes were included. Our unit was spacious and furnished better than some 4 star resorts. We will definitely be coming back!

Loved the front desk attendant's accent even though I couldn't place it. Guy was very pleasant with good sense of humour. Located in a quiet & isolated area, but was busy regardless. Decent bed (if a little firm) & nice floors. Room was clean and well furnished. Love the art on the walls. Only issues were a loud a/c to... More

We probably will not return to this property. We did not expect much and that is what we received. The rooms were clean and offered an inexpensive stay, but we will probably pay a little more next time

My wife and I found this location to be okay, but nothing special, which was ok because we wanted an economical option in the area. Getting there: we navigated using GPS and troubleshooting. It was hard to find the location at night. We didn't notice any prominent sign, and the roadway wasn't easily visible in the dark. Size: the room... More

If you're looking for a hotel with all the frills, this is not it. However if you are looking for a clean place to lay your head that's budget friendly, this is your spot. It's located right on the Cabot Trail which is handy for touring around, and only a 5 minute drive to the Dancing Goat (a MUST try... More

Were we ever surprised upon arrival in Port Hawkesbury to learn that there are a total of four hotel/motels in the area - and they were all booked. We'd just driven four hours from Lunenburg and couldn't bear the idea of another hundred sixty kilometers to Sydney (which was off our intended route anyway), so we had no idea where... More

Wasn't sure what to expect of this hotel as I couldn't really find anything else in the area as we had to make fast reservations. I had read the mixed reviews and as always I was hoping that we would be one of those people that were pleasantly surprised. The motel itself is of the older style and kind that... More

Stayed here for 1 night doing the Cabot Trail. This was our last night in Cape Breton with my family and I wanted to make it enjoyable for them but it wasn't. I reserved a room several nights ahead of time which was suite 1, the most expensive I believe. But when we arrived we asked if we could see... More

Werger, Owner at Margaree Riverview Inn, responded to this review

Well, they are the most ignorant people I have ever stayed here in my 15 years operating this business. I guess they are also racist who don't like people with German accent! Them self coming originally from an oriental country complaining about accent, they should be ashamed of them self (I think one could not even talk English). When they... More

My husband and I stayed here with our large dog while we were doing the Cabot Trail, and found it to be a very clean place-floors were laminate so did not smell or look weathered. Perfect location to start the trail, and the owner directed us to beautiful hiking/waterfalls within a 15 min drive. Only critique was I found the... More

The owner/staff were exceptional, helpful and knowledgeable. We were greeted by the owner, he was so very helpful and directed us to a lovely restaurant for dinner. He provided us with ice as needed and was a joy to talk to about the area. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Would recommend a stay here!
