Coming from Catania, make sure you are there for the bus near the station early enough or prebook a seat. The hotel is clean, welcoming, with excellent breakfast and evening meal and it is just next to the cable car to the Etna! It was very helpful that we could have packed lunches for our group. The hut where you... More

For our visit to Etna we chose to stay on the mountain for convenience, the hotel room was basic but very clean. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were fine. Probably a little overpriced for the room but it beats driving.

Catania is a wonderful little city and the hotel's location was good. The hotel was unremarkable in many aspects but convenient. The food was very good and the staff very helpful and friendly. Good beds are difficult to come by in Europe and this was no exception. Don't expect any amenities in the bathrooms

Everything great, from clean room to nice food, better than in other rifugi CAI. It has actually the conditions of a hotel. Nice program with music & entretainment. The only downside was the fact that some kids became loudy and were bursting balloons in our ears. Very good place to explore Etna and enjoy the eruptions. Unfortunately nobody woke us... More

My partner and I had an amazing time staying here for two nights including Christmas eve. The cost of our stay was 340 euro which included breakfast both mornings, two dinners(the one on Christmas eve being 5 courses), entertainment on Christmas eve, a 5 course Christmas lunch (so much food, I swear we're going home a few kg heavier) and... It's a compound situated on the Etna volcano at an altitude of 3400 Mt; exactly 400 far from the central crater. It's the highest place served by a paved road. It's formed by a big parking area, a wide square, various souvenir shops, some restaurants, 2 Hotels, publis touristic bureaus. It's the starting base of the Etna Cableway. Right here,... More

We went to this place for lunch, the service was very poor as we were waiting 5 minutes to be served ant then after ordering another 10 minutes for our drinks. When our food finally arrived it was tastless pata with sauce and pizza that seemed to have a base purchased at a supermarket. They seem to cater for large... More

I'd have been quite happy if it hadn't cost E75 each, but for that money you expect something special. As one of only two hotels this far up Mount Etna, if you want to do some volcano-watching, there's little choice. The location was great - right at the base of the cable car for climbing Etna. The view is stunning,... More
