We found Ribadesella and this hotel entirely by chance when looking for somewhere fairly close to Santander, (75 miles), to stay before catching the ferry to UK. Ribadesella is a charming little holiday town on an estuary and The Ribadesella Player Hotel is located right on the stunning beach. This little hotel was built as a small seaside house for... More

What a great location this hotel has. Woke up to a gorgeous beach just outside my room. Had taken some cough medicines which knocked me out and I managed to forget my pochette with my passport in it somehow.!!! Amazingly when i called the hotel a couple of days later they had it, much to my relief. So the cleaning... More

What a super hotel in a lovely town!! Ribadesella is one of the few towns we have visited in Spain that has been saved from over development and retains many of its old buildings. It's a little gem of a quiet seaside town, offering both a nice beach for swimming and a town for shops and eating. The hotel has... More

One night stay only so did not spend too much time at the hotel preferring to explore the area. That said the location, the area and the beach are faultless. We arrived by bus which is a 15 minute walk over the bridge from the old town and left by Feve train which is a slightly longer walk uphill to... More

We chose this hotel because of its location to Santander and it's attractive setting. The weather was not kind to us. It was very unseasonal for June. However, this family run hotel with its friendly staff and great bedrooms with views over the beach and across the bay were a great compensation. The hotel architecture and that of much of... More

Good place to have a settler in town. Very close to beach, 15m. Small rooms but price-quality good. Great staff open to any help. Close to hotel you can take a toy train to the center town, crossing river over bridge.. Lack of luxury thinks, dont needed!!

We stopped over in Ribadesella after leaving the ferry in Santander & on route for Galicia the next day. The hotel - as the location was a great choice for this. Set on the beach part of the bay - which is great if you like a run or stroll along the promenade & just the right distance to walk... More

We had a room with big windows opening out onto the beach with great views over the river mouth and up the beach. The windows opened wide and lovely sea breeze and wave sounds all night. Added to this the staff were very friendly, great breakfast and beds very comfortable. Lovely spot to stroll around the beach and river into... More

Hotel is lovely. Well situated to Bustillo Cave and beach. Rooms generously sized. Quiet location (although in peak season it might get noisy due to beach goers and faces a hostel). Otherwise, the hotel is towards the end of a strip of buildings overlooking the water. Away from all the major restaurants and clubs. Breakfast, criticized by others, included scrambled... More

Hotel Ribadesella Playa occupies a superb location on the promenade just yards from the fabulous beach and only a pleasant 10 minute stroll from the charming town which has a fine array of restaurants, bars and shops. We had a sea view room which was a good size, comfortable and well equipped as was the bathroom. Service was friendly although... More
