The Rocks is located with stunning beach and foliage views all around, and has many windows to take advantage of the views. It has a treehouse feel with decks all around. The host, Joe, was personable and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with meats, cheeses and home baked bread and rolls in addition to the usual offerings. I left wishing we... More

We had the good fortune to book 3 nights at The Rocks in Punakaiki on our journey down the West Coast of New Zealand. It could not have been nicer! The Rocks a modern residence with expansive glass walls which afford both sea and mountain views. It is set amidst a private forest of greenery. The kitchen area is a... More

My wife and I stayed at the Rocks on our way south. Patrick was an excellent host and made us feel most welcome and was very helpful with local information. The Sea Room was very comfortable and had great views. Would thoroughly recommend it to any one who enjoys peaceful locations off the beaten track.

This comfortable yet unpretentious B and B was set in the heart of a tract of rainforest close to Punakaiki. The room had views over the trees to the sea in the distance and it was lovely to lie in bed and hear the sea crashing even though it is some distance away. There was a good breakfast with lovely... My wife and I stayed here for one night and found it the perfect little stop on our tour of the south island. The room was of an exceedingly high standard, and the breakfast was awesome ( freshly made buns) as welas the coffee! The only negative i could give is that the other guests got up very early in... The Rocks is hidden away from the main road, and is quiet. The Art room has an enclosed balcony over looking the garden and tree tops to the sea and sunsets. There is a spacious open plan living room, dining room and kitchen where breakfast is prepared. The whole feel is relaxed luxurious comfort. The breakfast is home grown and... More

We stumbled across The Rocks by chance and thought it was wonderful! The setting is magnificent with views of both the local bush and the ocean from our terrace and a very short walk to the beach. Patrick, the owner, was lovely and helpful and cooked us a great breakfast with eggs kindly provided by family chickens and home baked... More

We have just spent 2 nights at the The Rocks Homestay and its was excellent. Hidden in the canopy of the rain forest its like a tree house but with all the mon cons and comforts. Our room was very well appointed and comfortable and spotlessly clean. The view was amazing and the sunsets spectacular. Susie and Cedric were great... More

When we first drove up the driveway of the Rocks homestay, we were worried about the condition of the place. Boy was I wrong, Stepping into the living area, we were greeted with warm wooden floor with a nice kitchen area tucked at the corner. The staircase leading down to our room was carpeted and nice. Our room was gorgeous,... More

A nice B&B with a beautiful view! Three lovely rooms and a big lounge. A nice garden and a short walk to the awesome beach! The host, Patrick, is helpful and friendly. Sitting on the balcony, looking out over Tasman Sea, waiting for the sunset.
