When we first drove up the driveway of the Rocks homestay, we were worried about the condition of the place. Boy was I wrong, Stepping into the living area, we were greeted with warm wooden floor with a nice kitchen area tucked at the corner. The staircase leading down to our room was carpeted and nice. Our room was gorgeous,... More

A nice B&B with a beautiful view! Three lovely rooms and a big lounge. A nice garden and a short walk to the awesome beach! The host, Patrick, is helpful and friendly. Sitting on the balcony, looking out over Tasman Sea, waiting for the sunset.

Nice location for this B&B where we stayed one night. A bit more of a hotel feel to it than other real B&Bs we have been to. A bit over-priced, but all in all a good place to stay if you want to see the Pancake rocks.

My friend and I stayed at The Rocks for 2 nights early December. Our host Patrick and his Assistant Brad were very helpful and gave us their expert advice on the area. Our room was beautiful with a lovely sitting room attached to it. Breakfast was lovely and we saw the blow holes at high tide which was fantastic! Thank... More

House in the middle of nowwhere where you leave your shoes at the entrance with a nice german owner. Breakfast was great. Very quiet place. The art room have a terrasse and a nice view of the beach. From there easy access to truman track and near the pancake rocks !

This is a superb location. We arrived after a rather lukewarm display from the Pancake Rocks blow holes. We were in the Art Room, with a balcony from which all we could see were the tops of trees with the ocean in the distance. Viktor, the owners' assistant, showed us around with another couple from America who had arrived simultaneously.... More

We stayed at this breathtaking homestay for 2 nights. Viktor who helps the managers greeted us with tea and cookies and showed us around. We met Patrick in the evening. What a sweetheart, a neverending source of tips and advices. Joe, his partner looked after us for breakfast. The selfmade bread and cakes are to die for. We could have... More

Arrived mid pm and shown to Sea room which was nice and had great views although you need binos to see Pancake rocks. Unfortunately the owner (now back in Swtizerland) had double booked the room which let to an uncomfortable stay with an extra couple in the house who quite rightly were disappointed. The hosts run other hostels in the... More

First off, the house and location are simply beautiful. However, the overall stay experience fell a bit short. We were greeted on arrival by Victor and Char, who help out the managers who also run a hostel in town. Not having the actual manager/owner on site was a bit strange. Our room, the Art room, had a great conservatory and... More

The B&B is very nice and offers wonderful views on one of the most beautiful parts of the South Island's coastline. We stayed in the Arts room, which is elegantly decorated, although I agree with one of the previous reviewers that there is no closet space whatsoever and the bathroom is small. It looks like they don't expect people to... More
