We travelled up from Hannah's Beach really looking forward to our 1 night homestay stay with Dennis and Raelyn and werent disapointed in the slightest. Raelyn had to work so couldnt do an evening meal for us but, she was kind enough to let us know and recommend somewhere en route for us to eat, which was great. It is... More

We felt at home, it's a true homestay, especially felt this way as we were the only guests at the time. They are both truly welcoming. This is a good stop to visit the pancakes rocks, but if you want to dine out you will find the best restaurants in greymouth, 25 min away.

Our family of four stayed one evening with Dennis and Rae. After surviving an epic rainstorm to reach the West Coast, Dennis was very welcoming when we arrived. He entertained us with stories of his hunting days and kept us laughing until we were too tired to keep our eyes open. The next morning we met Rae (she had been... More

This is a homestay. A little different than a B&B, but that's a good thing. My wife and I stayed in October 2012. Dennis and Rae were great hosts. Dennis was full of stories and Rae was suitably unimpressed as any wife would be. The location is perfect to see a part of the South Island that few people I... More

We stayed 2 nights at Bluewaves and it was the best B&B we went to in the South Island. Dennis and Rae welcomed us like we were friends and made us feel at home. They are always available and ready to help or give information. We spent quite a lot of time talking to Dennis who has amazing stories to... More

We spent one night at Bluewaves en-route to Fox Glacier and were made very welcome by Rae & Dennis. Dennis provided a (very) fresh fish dinner for us on arrival, and breakfast the following morning was no less appealing. The accommodation was comfortable and a true homestay, providing all amenities needed. Dennis himself is a real character and interesting to... More

We were instantly made to feel at home and nothing was a problem. They treated us just like family and helped to make our south island trip extremely enjoyable, providing us with fond memories. Thank you so much Raelyn and Dennis for your wonderful hospitality. I highly recommend Blue Waves, particularly to people who enjoy socializing and meeting new people.
