We chose this hotel as it's near Island hospital where our Doctor is. Island hospital is really2 close.. 1 minute walk literally..Environment has no food area unless restaurant below and hospital cafetaria. Room space is enough for twin beds, quite dirty with dusty rug and lots mosquitos, but you can ask them to spray. All the amenities from ac, tv... More

Decent stay in YMCA. In fact, quite affordable and with a somewhat central location. Take a cab to the nearby Red Rock Hotel to try the street food around the area. Suppose to have wifi available but always can't get it probably due to heavy usage. Won't mind going back again for the cheap lodging! Free breakfast is somewhat disappointing,... More

I have schedule for medical check up in Hospital Island so i booked YMCA for 2 nights because the location is just a few step from the hospital. The room rate is reasonable. i paid rm 72 / night for twin sharing room. The room is big enough, clean and the most important thing is : YMCA has some helpfull... More

YMCA is the one of the closest hotel to Island Hospital, where are the Doctor specialists be. You just walk & across the street of Macalister Road, You can find the hospital already. Very flexible place. The room spacious, make able for 3 people inside. Clean enough & the service good. They prepared 2 bottled mineral water already. Just reminded... More

Do your homework and compare YMCA with other places that charge this amount instead of with hotels. We booked the deluxe twin rooms (90 rm a night) and were blown away. Good sturdy wooden furniture, enough space to fully lay out two luggages (and stroll around them too!), comfortable beds, ensuite bathrooms. Cannot understate how I appreciated the cleanliness of... Stayed here with friends. The room has its own ref, tv and hot and cold shower. Ample space to move around and the sheets and towels are regularly changed by the helpful staff. Breakfast is free but don't expect too much. We took the cab around Penang so I dont really know if there are commuter buses around this quiet... More

Nice place, lovely staff, big room.Location is a little bit too far from tourist attractions, but that means a good night sleep.Bus stops are near,so you will find all those "important"places.Within 20 minutes walking distance are many good food stalls with excellent dishes.Drinking water is free in the hotel.Breakfast is poor but keeps you going until you reach those food stalls.Only negativ thing:the... Clean and Simple Room, but a bit smelly...we could overcome it by opening the window to let the fresh air in. We pay only rm 90 for a twin room and already included a simple breakfast. Location is not so good, far from food stall or mall, except if you are seeking for medication in Island Hospital. Island Hospital is... More

For its price, YMCA Penang is one of the cheapest and cleanest accommodations around. Rooms are clean with working TVs, a good airconditioner, working hot water showers, coffee-making facilities and decent breakfasts. It's a good place to stay if you want a quiet, clean place, but bear in mind that it is a little far from most tourist spots. Note... More
