I stayed a few times here and tried the Family Room, Double, and Single. The rooms were indeed very clean, including the common bathroom. If you are not staying in the Family Room upstairs, you need to walk to the end of the corridor to access the common bathroom, but that is not a very long distance. When we were... More

My room which was down stairs near the lobby was a nightmare with noise..its all very open plan and no soft furnishing and the night staff were noisy ...didn't really stop until 1.30 am or so..my friends had a room upstairs which hadn't been changed between guests and at 90 ringit not even that cheap...I would never stay again

My wife, niece and I stayed in two rooms at the Hutton Lodge in Georgetown for 5 nights. The outside of the building is impressive, but the rooms are nothing special. The air conditioning worked well, but the shared bathrooms were quite a distance down the hall. These bathrooms were consistently well maintained at all hours of the day. The... More

We stayed here for two nights...it was horrible! At first, there is this smell in the hostel. It's awful. The rooms are sort of clean, but the sheets are torn and the pillows are disgusting. The first night I saw a mouse running down the hallway and during or whole stay, there was a dead rat on the drive in.... More

I stay in Hutton Lodge every few months on business trips back to Penang for all the good stuff shared by other travelers here. Unfortunately my feedback on the mattress to the front desk past one year have gone unheeded hence would like catch the management attention here that the existing mattress in some rooms e.g. 213 (attached bath) 205... Cons: First, room conditions are fair as lighting is not enough at night. Second, It is quite inconvenient to go through a long corridor to the shared toilets and bathrooms. Pros: The price is cheap, the boss is nice, and the outlook of the hotel is awesome - a beautiful colonial house. The location is good too, just 10 minutes... More

Set back from the street with a front garden and terrace, it looks really stunning. The staff is not very personable. There is carpeting upstairs which is not very clean. I have a very good nose and was bothered by the stale smell. Good airco and showers. Simple usual hostel breakfast of toast, butter and jam.

This is the second time I have stayed in this lodge and i loved it. First, its cheap and second, its clean. More over, the place is cosy, although its not the typical hotel. One thing that i dislike is the mosquitos, other than that, a good place to stay for a short gateway and enjoy Penang Island.

The hotel is well located, near the center and the restaurants. The staff was friendly and our room and the shared bathroom were average: good and clean, but nothing outstanding. We particularly liked the breakfast.

We stayed here with my fiancee for five days in June 2014 in a double ensuite. Hutton Lodges location was good and it was near to the bus stops, it was clean and new, but other than that it was average. Rooms were ok size and clean, bathroom had a great shower. During our five night stay, no one came... More
