The cottages are absolutely beautiful, give a very colonial, yet cosy feel. The views are magnificent. I have stayed here twice - the first time in the upper cottage and the second time in the cottage which is located a short trek away. Both the experiences were amazing. Plenty of treks and walks around the place. The owners take personal... More

Somerset Lodge, Mukteshwar is a beautiful vintage bungalow set in the midst of hills with amazing views on a clear day. The hospitality, though not professional (as is the case with most homesteads/ small lodges), is nice, mostly prompt and warm. Mr Raju Mehra, who owns the place, is a great guy and generally meets most of your requests. A... More

My eight year-old daughter and I spent three blissful days at Somerset Lodge in April. Waking up to those magnificent views, and flowers and birdsong on every side, was delicious, and we read on the lawn for hours. Rooms were spacious and basic. The staff were perfect, the food home-cooked and excellent, Nearby were beautiful walks and various activities which... More

The Somerset Lodge is an amazing place to spend a quiet few days close to nature. We visited it first in early 2014 and ever since have been here at least 6 times—that speaks volumes about how lovely and enchanting Somerset is for us. For starters, I would like to contradict Mnanne's view that the walls of the building are... More

First of all, the cover image on this page is not of Somerset, it's another lodge downhill, owned by a relative, so if you want this cottage, ask specifically for it. I think it's called Oak Chalet. Secondly, if you are looking for solitude, or mountain views, this is not the place. It is surrounded by multiple other resorts, cafes,... More

Very homely, rustic and comfortable.Do not expect urban hotel like atmosphere its a comfortable mountain village home with all basic modern amenities. Food is simple and delicious having distinct local flavours. Staff is very friendly and full of hospitality. The lodge is very pretty with exotic flowers and plants everywhere, a garden and lawn with a grand view of the... More

Did not realize that November is the best month to travel to Mukteshwar, less traffic on roads and you get personalized service in resorts. Having said that, my trip to Mukteshwar was one of my best short breaks. We started at 5am from Delhi and arrived at Mukteshwar around lunch. We had no prior booking, this was my 3rd trip... More

I went to Mukteshwar with my family and guests from Mumbai! Had a great time at the lodge. Your get a panoramic view of the himalayas from the garden. The rooms are comfortable and the food is just perfect! Mukteshwar and Somerset is definitely a better option than the over crowded Nainital!

Fantastic place to stay in. The new property.. Gahna resort is also a good place to stay in. .. good rooms and good food..lot of fruits to eat. His cook and his staff is most helpful. Most people are unaware of the rap,ing and rock climbing activities ahead of the temple premises.
