We had visited this place last year. If you want to relax your body and soul then this is the must go place to visit. You have to climb up the hill for at least 600 metres to 1000 metres app. to reach to your cottage. Though it's bit tough to reach there if you are unfit, you will get... More

Jilling Estate is a private property own by Uncle Steve. Its an hour drive from rail head (Kathgodam) to Matial. You have to take a short trek from Matial to Jilling which is an amazing one! You will love clicking pictures on your way to jilling. I went to Jilling for the first time during diwali of 1991. And I... More

the rooms and facilities are basic, like no 24 hr hot water etc, many people especially routine traveller may find some reasons to complain like no road connectivity etc, but the property is heaven on earth hope the "development bug" doesn't hit this place at least. the walk up the hill may be strenuous for the aged and unfit and... Do not be intimidated by the 300m steep climb from the road to the estate. All that panting and gasping for your breath is worth the pain once you get to the top :-). Travel light and even if you have luggage, the ever smiling Ram Lal will be there to escort you and carry your luggage up the hill... More

It requires an effort to reach there with a steep climb but once you are there, it is a divine experience. Very courteous staff and the owners treated us as if we were their relatives. Such a delightful experience. Also, superb treks to the ridge, temple..View of the sunset from the ridge was too good..Also, just outside our cottage we... More

What an experience….steep climb takes you to this place on a mountain hill….location is simply mind blowing. Parvati and Lall - the couple owning the place, looked after us as we are guest in their daughters wedding! The place has outstanding views of the forests and the panchchuli peaks. The home grown organic food is the highlight and the experience... More

My review again starts with the commentary on the road to Jilling. It was worse than last year. Last 100km is full of potholes and bad traffic. Anyways, we reached the place we so eagerly wanted to. The place never seizes to amaze me. And this time we got lucky with snowfall. It was our first and we so so... More

My wife and my trip to Jilling Estate for New Year 2012-13 was unforgettable, for all the right reasons! Nestled in a secluded part of the Kumaon - about 1.5 hours drive from Kathgodam and then a 1-hour trek uphill - Jilling Estate felt, for most of the time that we were there, like our very own slice of paradise.... One place i can never forget is Jilling Estate. Jilling Estate experience is refreshing and surprising for first timers. What make it unique is the setting up limited number of cottages in 120 Acres of forest area. I heard that there are other similar estates uproad but nothing come closer to Jilling Estate. Estate is run and looked by Lall... More
