If you are the kind of traveller used to buffet meals, cable television, wi fi and a swimming pools, read no further. If you are the kind of traveller who likes to connect with nature ,the hills and breathe fresh clean air without being bombarded with music , then read further . A place you would not want to write about in Trip Advisor - you would never want it to be commercialized or touristy or hell, even be discovered. You can read more about the surrounding calm and beauty, homely and tasty foods, tender loving care and a soulful stay in the previous reviews. We were lucky to find snow just... More

This review is coming in a few months late. Apologies for being lazy! We stayed here in Oct’14. I've been wanting to come here for while and finally made in Oct. First the climb – yes it is steep, but take it easy and you’ll get up to the estate in 45 min. Our daughters (aged 7 and 11) rode... More

I doubt the title above... I think thats HEAVEN!! You need to have a moderate level of physical fitness and excessive yearning to live close to the clouds. Get up in the morning with a view of the himalayas and go to sleep peeking at the twinkling stars from your window.... nothing comes in the way. The food cooked in... More

We had visited this place last year. If you want to relax your body and soul then this is the must go place to visit. You have to climb up the hill for at least 600 metres to 1000 metres app. to reach to your cottage. Though it's bit tough to reach there if you are unfit, you will get... More

Jilling Estate is a private property own by Uncle Steve. Its an hour drive from rail head (Kathgodam) to Matial. You have to take a short trek from Matial to Jilling which is an amazing one! You will love clicking pictures on your way to jilling. I went to Jilling for the first time during diwali of 1991. And I... More

the rooms and facilities are basic, like no 24 hr hot water etc, many people especially routine traveller may find some reasons to complain like no road connectivity etc, but the property is heaven on earth hope the "development bug" doesn't hit this place at least. the walk up the hill may be strenuous for the aged and unfit and... Do not be intimidated by the 300m steep climb from the road to the estate. All that panting and gasping for your breath is worth the pain once you get to the top :-). Travel light and even if you have luggage, the ever smiling Ram Lal will be there to escort you and carry your luggage up the hill... More

It requires an effort to reach there with a steep climb but once you are there, it is a divine experience. Very courteous staff and the owners treated us as if we were their relatives. Such a delightful experience. Also, superb treks to the ridge, temple..View of the sunset from the ridge was too good..Also, just outside our cottage we... More
