By no doubt this is one of the best hostels in the world You come to the colourful village, and three minute walk from the main square you find casa Mazeta They offer dorms and rooms, you can cook yourself, everything is close by. All-you-need super market two blocks. The hostel itself is beautifully and relaxdly designed. Beautiful garden, lovely... More

High praise indeed, thank you so much for your review! It is quite the norm now for people to extend their stay with us, which must prove we are doing something right! Hard for us to add to what you have already said, though we wholeheartedly agree that Juayúa is one of the most beautiful villages in Centro America -... More

This is a beautiful hostal. I stayed in one of their private rooms by the garden. The room was beautifully decorated, very clean. The hostal is in a nice location- walking distance to the main plaza but away from the main street so you get peace and quiet. You can hang around in the spacious well stocked common areas or... Thank you very much for your review. We do aim always to keep a peaceful, relaxed ambience at Casa Mazeta… much easier now that ´Fiestas Patronales´ are over! Occasionally we ourselves get to laze in a hammock, and never cease to be amazed at the constant birdsong chittering away, disturbed only by the furious beating of hummingbird wings as they... More

Casa Mazeta was a very charming place to stay! The Finnish lady was so friendly and informative and rooms were unique. We even had a very charming outdoor shower and toilet! In the evenings it was nice to sit together with the owner lady and other guests and have interesting talks. And of course the dogs were so nice!

Kiitos … from the Finnish lady! Very glad that you enjoyed the outdoor shower and toilet – perhaps it should be mentioned that it is totally private, in a sun-drenched secluded patio! It was lovely to chat to you too, and everybody loves the dog and cat and tortoise ;) Hugs from all of us here at Casa Mazeta! More

Casa Mazeta is a fantastic hostel. The staff are so happy, friendly, and extremely helpful! The hostel itself has a great area to hang out and meet other people as well as a wonderful garden and kitchen. We did their 7 waterfalls hike and it was a great day. Their guide is impeccable and it was just a pleasure to... More

Thank you guys, for this lovely review! Carlos, our guide, is warmed by your kind praise. We truly believe that he loves that hike as much as we love La Mazeta!! This hike is a little challenging in parts, but Carlos is always at hand to offer help and reassurance. Certainly not a walk in the park, but it is... More

We stayed at this hosta for a week after only planning on a couple of days. We had a fantastic big room, clean and comfortable. Casa Mazeta offers everything a tired traveller needs, big communal spaces, large well equipped kitchen, beautiful garden with lot's of shady seating areas. Everything was about space, comfort and looking after the guests. Casa Mazeta... More

Hi guys, thanks for your warm, glowing review! We do indeed intend to keep the hostal small and personal, aiming for much more of a guesthouse vibe than a party-hostel mood. Our staff are like family to us and thankfully feel relaxed enough to mingle with our guests, although they are at pains sometimes for the language barrier. Billie and... More

We stayed for a night and absolutely loved it! A beautiful guesthouse with lots of lovely touches, great dorms, big lockers, kitchen and movies. The only thing to be aware of is that we asked the lovely owner about the safety of the waterfalls in town and were told it was safe if we went with our group of 3.... More

We absolutely loved Casa Mazeta. We stayed for 5 nights in the Piña room and it was perfect.
