We loved this place and ended up staying almost a week. Hosts Darren and Susanna are super friendly and helpful and have really created a lovely laid back hostel. We stayed in two rooms, both clean with good beds. The kitchen was roomy and really well equipped and there was plenty of space to chill inside with the (100s!) of... More

We have stayed in many hostels and truly this one excels above the rest. The whole hostel is beautiful but homely and Darren and Susanna make you feel so welcome. Susanna especially is a credit to the place, she makes you feel like a friend rather than a paying guest. From the free drink on arrival we knew we would... More

Loved this place, maybe a bit too much-I stayed way longer than I anticipated. Darren, Gordo, and really all of the staff are top notch. Social, fun vibe without being a party hostel. We played an intense round of Jenga with pretty much every person in the hostel. They taught me how to play cribbage, which I am still mastering.... More

If in Juayúa - stay at Casa Mazeta. Loved the atmosphere, the vibe, the dogs and the super friendly and welcoming owner and staff. I especially liked the cooking class when we got to make our own pupusas and then had a big pupusa fiesta in the garden! Big lockers, comfy beds, clean bathrooms, free drinking water, cold beer -... Staff are super helpful and Tona (the volunteer) gave us heaps of recommendations for the area. Very clean and the layout, garden, great full kitchen and common areas made it really homely. Two friendly resident dogs that greet you. Comfortable beds. Great wifi. Welcome drink! Nothing to really complain about except a bit of street noise at night because there... More

We absolutely loved this place and the sister hostel (camping only) on the coast. We were there more than a year ago and still remember the place and the staff well. Such care and attention. We were able to camp in the garden for slightly less than the dorm rate. It was a little noisy (from the street) out in... More

We stayed in a twin private, shared bathroom and thought the room was large enough for two people with lockers and comfy beds. The kitchen is well equipped, drinking water is free and guests are greeted with a welcome drink (beer or soft drink). These are also available for purchase. A large garden in the back is perfect for relaxing... More

This is a hostel you hope to enjoy every travel you make. Perfect rooms, clean and with real nice design. Besides that a big garden, a perfect kitchen and a living room with tv for movies to watch. The owner Darren and his staff are great, very welcoming. I stayed 4 days instead of the 2 days I had planned..... More

Thank you for your kind review, We also enjoyed hosting you and certainly hope that you do return. Thanks for pointing out all of our facilities, we would just like to mention that the Bbq pit is almost ready and that a mariposario onsite is being planned for the very near future. Meanwhile we are busy revelling in las fiestas... More

Everything a backpacker could want and more! I stayed in the dorm and the owner Darren has thought of everything a traveller could want. The most comfortable beds, plenty of storage for luggage, great hot shower... The list goes on. It is not too big or small so everyone gets together and hangs out, lots of games to keep everybody... Hello and thanks for the great review! The comfortable beds, ample storage space and all of the other little details are very important to us .... maybe you have to have been backpacking for years and staying in not so good hostels to fully realise all that, and we have certainly done plenty of that! Restless nights on thin mattresses... More

$20 per night, private twin room with shared bathroom, 11th - 16th September 2014 Vibe: We stayed there in low season, so it was a very laid-back and homey environment. Lots of space, real attention to detail and quality throughout. We've experienced a lot of hostels on our travels and this is definitely one of our favourites. Location: Juayua ('why-ooh-a')... Thank you for your excellent and in-depth recommendation! Very hard to add anything to your very well written review, apart from saying that from tomorrow onward we will also have a large fire-pit/Bbq to offer in addition to the huge, well equipped kitchen. Also like to mention that our puppy Billie is finally settling down - she is still a... More
