There's a reason Casa Mazeta gets first place in the Tripadvisor listings. It really is a wonderful place to stay – a real home from home. It has a beautiful, quirky style, a well-equipped kitchen (you cannot imagine my joy to discover a potato masher), a stunning garden with comfy hammocks, two of the most adorable dogs you will ever... Hi, thank you for the fantastic review! We are extremely glad to hear your comments, and that you found a potato masher ;) Our doggies are adorable, RyR is seriously good, filtered water is now 30c per litre. Everybody that stays also loves the outside bathroom in our suite ´La Piña´! So, all in all, everybody is happy, although ´policing´... More

Me and my friend stayed here for 3 nights and we really enjoyed our time. The hostel also set us up for the waterfall tour which was really good. I would recommend anyone to stay here and there is a lot of other cool towns to visit nearby like Ataco.

We thank you for your kind review! We offer various tours, the 7 Waterfalls Tour being the most popular and, have many more in the planning stage. Also available is a folder with all the information you need to enjoy the best of all the towns around, from Nahuizalco, Salcoatitan, Concepcíon de Ataco and more. Once again, thanks and warm... I passed thru Juayúa when I was completely exhausted, and I left quite refreshed after three nights here. The Piña room is awesome if you want your own space to chill, with both indoor and outdoor spaces that are all your own. The garden, with hammocks, is lovely, and the kitchen and loungeroom are great communal spaces if you're in... More

Hi there and thank you for your detailed review. We are very glad to hear that you felt so relaxed and ´en casa´ with us. ´la Piña´ where you stayed has proven to be exceptionally popular, again glad you liked it. In regard to your one criticism: firstly, although many in the ´first world´ think water is free, it is... More

Casa Mazeta is such a wonderful place to stay. If you are in Juayúa it's a must! Comfortable, clean, and cost effective. The staff are so welcoming and make you feel at home. Dorm rooms have huge space for storage and the garden is absolutely beautiful. I would have stayed much longer if my timeline permitted. Make sure you do... More

Very kind review, thanks from all of us here at La Mazeta! We are extremely pleased with the way our garden is developing, it is becoming a main feature of our ´hostalito´; a place to relax and to chat, or simply enjoy the fresh air and many butterflies, birds and bees that also come to visit us. Also, thanks for... More

If all hostels could aim for this standard the world would be a better place!!! We stayed in a nice little room in The garden with private patio and (slightly odd) outside bathroom, which once you embraced it was great! Garden area was really nice as were the dogs who live here, 2 of them and very friendly. Good kitchen... More

Thank you for your warm review guys! Glad you like our rather funky garden suite, and the two chummy little doggies. We keep our beer prices to, or below, local prices - $1.25 for the local pilsener can´t be considered expensive, right? Also, thanks for mentioning our good friends at Restaurante RyR. That really is a spectacular place to eat.... More

Casa Mazeta is a splendid hostel to stay at, regardless of if you are only dropping into Juayua for the food festival (unmissable) or looking for somewhere to relax for a spell. The hostel itself is bright and beautiful, fully equipped (kitchen, games, DVD collection, movie area, etc.), comes with a friendly (max chilled) dog Chiquita, a very pretty garden... More

Amazing hostel, great kitchen, nice clean, cheap rooms. Beautiful garden. We went to see some places on the flower route, but the waterfall within walking distance was just amazing for swimming, went everyday. Nice communal TV room, big screen TV, hundreds of movies. Nice place to start El Salvador, plan, chill plan a bit, sample great cheap papusas.

Hola, thanks for your review! The waterfalls you mention, ´Los Chorros de la Calera´, really are a spectacular highlight of Juayua. Unmissable; perfect for a refreshing wake-you-up swim. The pupusas, starting at $0.60c each, are also an integral part of our beautiful mountain town. Thanks for choosing us - happy onward travels! Warm hugs from all of us here at... More

Like the town of Juayua itself, this is a beautiful, charming and chilled out gem in El Salvador. The owners (Darren and Suzanna) make you feel right at home and are more than happy to help with any queries you might have. They are both wonderfully knowledgeable about the local area and can point you in the direction of all... More

The village of Juayua is beautiful and quaint with the excellent food festival breathing life into its main square at the weekend. Casa Mazeta compliments the setting perfectly.
