This hotel is so convenient, just slipping off the main highway as you travel along the autovia andalucia. We have stopped off here several times, and always enjoyed a good night's rest. Food has always been consistently good, breakfasts and substantial and well cooked. We found the restaurant staff to be most attentive and obliging. The spacious bedrooms are situated... More

The bedrooms are built around the swimming pool on two floors. And are very well equipped.the restaurant first class. Also a... More

We booked this hotel as the only one we could find on the way across the interior of Spain that took dogs. It was terrible. The grounds have not been kept up. Weeds growing all over the place. The swimming pool was not full but maybe it was the season. It looked abandoned. One building seemed abandoned. The carports were... More

Excellent value for money, great location just off the motorway but very very quiet. All rooms are bungalow style; very large, comfortable and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Restaurant is very good, good food variety and well cooked and presented. Breakfast excellent. We would recommend this hotel for a one or two nights stopover. We will definately go... More

This was a good motel. Cars are under cover and close to the rooms. There is an excellent swimming pool. The facilities are all there, if appearing a little basic. Each room has a terrace or balcony. Beware if you have mobility issues or small children as there are a few rooms on the second floor. The restaurant provided a... More

This is the second time we have stayed here at the Hotel el Hidalgo . For us it is a good overnight travel stop when we are travelling from Mediterranean France on the main route across central Spain to either Southern Spain or Portugal. It is on the service road running off the Autovia. Our room was clean and opened... More

The location is good, easy to find just off the motorway. The gardens are excellent. Pets welcome. Secure parking right outside your room. The rooms are tired and old, not that clean either. The beds are uncomfortable. The whole place needs a refit to bring it out of the 1970s & into this century. No wifi signal at the back... More

Decided to stay here for a change on our trip down to Southern Spain.(We normally stay about 10/15 minutes further south) Our room was in the 2 storey block (Crossroads Motel style) at the back. The room had obviously just been cleaned as there was an overpowering smell of bleach and the floor was still wet when we arrived. The... More

Apparently this used to be a Tryp hotel. Quite frankly, I don't understand why they got rid of it. Maybe they were short of money do make this hotel a really great place. It won't be cheap but it will be well worth it. (Would someone like Mariott Courtyard or Accor's Mercure please listen?) I'll explain my opinion: The hotel... More

We usually stay further up the road at Diosbarrios but this time we we early so pressed on. We had seen the El Hidalgo for many years as we passed through so thought we would give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is very dated and needs some money thrown at it but all in all the... More
