We stayed at the hotel during a driving tour of Spain. We chose the hotel largely based on the positive reviews here and were not disappointed. The house is spectacular and in itself could be the premier tourist attraction in the region. The hotel only has five rooms so is very quiet with a charming intimacy. The rooms are large,... More

Jose and Susana went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and welcome in their gorgeous hotel/home. My room was very spacious, with wonderful attention to detail. The breakfast was delicious, including home-baked sweetbreads and french-pressed coffee, something I hadn't seen yet in my 6 weeks of traveling through Spain, France and Portugal. Jose told me that he... More

A very special and magnificent place to stay for everyone looking for rest and peace as well as for the historical remains of the famous German family the “Fugger” (Los Fucares) who have run the local mines for about 120 years in the 15th and 16th century in exchange for financing the election of Carlos V as Emperor of the... This is a fabulous family run hotel with fantastic attention to detail. The rooms are exquisitely decorated with bags of character and huge beds but also very effective air conditioning . The public areas are also beautifully done. It is not the place to visit if you are after a wild night out, but if you want to get away... More

This hotel is definitely worth going out of the way for. Susana and Jose are wonderful hosts and absolutely charming people. The 12th century building has been renovated by this couple with a great deal of love and just oozes charm. It is just a little difficult to find as it is further away from the centre of town than... This hotel is worth a trip to Almaden just for the experience. The innkeepers are wonderful, gracious hosts; and go out of their way to make your stay special. Breakfast included delicious homemade items, and there were many fine choices. The hotel is a tastefully refurbished 12th century monastery which retains the original structure and atmosphere. I highly recommend it... More

Staying at Los Fucares is an absolutely stunning experience. As you will notice, all opinions converge. If there wasn't so much to visit in Almaden, hotel Los Fucares would be worth the trip on his own. From the start you are immersed in the middle ages, in a house with a fascinating history and all details so carefully adjusted that... More
