We spent one night here prior to taking up our cortijo near Orgiva for the week at the beginning of July but are able to fully echo the sentiments in reports provided by previous contributors. The room was comfortable, twin beds with memory foam mattresses and a great balcony view. In general the facilities were good, a great deal of... More

We just returned from an Exodus walking holiday based at the Hotel los Berchules. The room was great with a stunning view down the valley from the balcony. The service had the personal touch which you don't get at a big hotel, the food was excellent all week, simple but always well cooked, the strawberry tart was particularly memorable. The... More

Hotel Bercheles is a very special place. We were part of a group of 10 doing guided walks. It was wonderful to return to this place of serenity at the end of each day. The food was outstanding - fresh ingredients, always succulent and delicious, and very plentiful. The breakfasts are also superb and really set one up for the... More

What a wonderful stay we had. The area is great for walking. The hotel is very nice. The breakfast were good and the dinners were exceptionally good every single day. Most importantly we were made to feel so welcome by Alejandro and his family. Wendy was so nice and really helpful when we were planning walks. Sammy led some walks... More

As a group of 6, we spent 10 days at the Los Berchules Hotel. We used Berchules as our base for a walking holiday. Either individually or as a group we have had many walking holidays, and without any exaggeration, the Los Berchules offered the best service, food and hospitality ever. The owners/staff could not do enough for us. Their... More

Excellent Anglo-Spanish-family run hotel in a beautiful location. Friendly and attentive service, good food and lots to read. Very quiet. If you are into hiking, the trail up the valley from Berchules, sendero Junta de los Rios, is one of the most beautiful and varied I have ever walked.

Having walked from Marina to Berchules it was great to be welcomed by Wendy offering us a cold beer. Lovely position with great views across the valley, food excellent, room great and service could not be faulted. Even got a lift to reduce the amount of climbing on the next day. Roger and Di

Nothing has to, everything can.!! The team of hotel los Berchules takes good care of you. The hotel is organised very efficiently The rooms are big enough and very clean. Good mattresses!! Nice, modern well equipped rooms. Evening meal tasty, recommend the rabbit and almond source but vegetarian options available. Lovely breakfast, plenty of choice of cereals , yoghurt, toast etc. Fresh orange juice and plentiful and good tea and coffee. A lovely lounge with an open fire was most welcome for the cool Alpujarra nights as was the bath for a... More

Three days was not enough time to really get the full benefit of relaxed mountain life at Hotel Los Berchules. The almond trees were still in flower, but suntan lotion had to be applied whilst lying in the sun and eating a picnic by the ruins of a Moorish silk mill after an idyllic walk up a mountain valley. Our... More
