Me and my partner have just returned back from a two week stay. The hotel is great, very clean, the cleaners are about cleaning rooms every day, changing bedding and towels. The hotel staff are very friendly and will help you out were they can. The corridors are abit noisy with people walking past but once in there rooms you cant... More

The breakfast was continental.for the price l had paid 63 pounds for 7 nights it was okey.there was a television in the room with 3 english channels and a fridge.near the hotel were many shops and restaurants and gouvia beach is 200 metres away. The only problem l faced was walking up the stairs because they gave me a room that... We stayed here for 4 nights b&b. The hotel was basic but clean and adequate for our needs. Staff polite rooms typically Greek basic but very clean. Pool tiny but we prefer beach so not a problem! The buffet breakfast was again adequate. Greek yoghurt cereals and lovely fresh bread. Excellent position to explore the town. Near to pebble beach.... More

Made the booking via booking.com at the last minute. Arrived at the hotel which is located at the northern end of Kontokali, beside Gouvia marina and didn't expect much. However, was more than happy with the quality of service and the room. Most things have been said in earlier reviews, however, the main points are: rooms are very well cleaned,... More

Booked a last minute 3 night long weekend to Corfu and the Popi Star.Paid £62 for the flight and £27 for 3 nights b&b. I ended up in room 404 (2nd floor) at the front of the hotel with a scenic balcony view of the "unfinished" shopping centre opposite. The fairly large bedroom had 2 single beds pushed together..an old 14"... Would say it's just scraping a 3 star. Appears clean on the outside, but the dusty rooms and old duvets which are thick dark brown/orange things made me I'll and chesty every night! Not much choice on food, and staff not very friendly. Nice quiet area, nice pool area...

Unlike "Miserable" (below, June 2014), I really appreciated little Gouvia - especially after I had gone by bus slightly north and seen Dassia and Ipsos and Benitses, 3 other seaside resorts. Gouvia is pretty: small, but has a bit of everything, shop- and restaurant-wise, even a little pharmacy as well, and a doctor if you need one, a lovely little... More

Have stayed in 5 star hotels and cruises, booked hotel popi star for a cheap long weekend to enjoy the island if Corfu . I knew it was 2 star so i am not disappointed. Very basic reception and bar area, but all very friendly and welcoming, and our room is actually fine. Basic but immaculately clean , clean towels... More

Again a great little 2Star hotel, the room was kept clean, every day, you don't get that from some 4Stars, the room has a fridge, and a shower that worked well with hot water all the 2 week stay. The breakfast was minimal as l expected for £10 a night, but fine, ham, cheese, bread, tined fruit, yogurt, cornflakes, good... More
