The pros: The room was large and clean and the bed was comfortable. The cons: Only occasional availability of hot water (and not on any occasion I tried). The breakfast is dismal: tasteless bread, cheapest kind of packet jam, and corn-flakes, which you eat in a stainless-steel bowl!!! Only nescafe on offer (no filter coffee). The worst feature though is... More

The hotelroom was small, the shower very small and without ventilation. Everything was quite basic but a plus was the small fridge in the room. The pool was simple but refreshing with good sun loungers. The breakfast was very simple and sober. The staff was very nice and helpful.

I booked a package deal through easyJet holidays so I didn't have any choice over which hotel I chose. When I read the reviews on Tripadvisor, it seemed fairly positive for a budget hotel. We arrived late evening and were shown immediately to our room, which was on the first floor, there are no lifts in the hotel so you... More

My family and I stayed in Corfu in April this year at this hotel just shy of the season starting in order to escape Easter holiday madness in England. I travelled with my mother, brother, nana and little sister. When we arrived at Popi Star I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the bar and reception area was when we... More

We were made to feel very welcome at this hotel. It was the Easter weekend and much of Gouvia was closed, but the staff went out of their way to provide us with information on places to go. They gave us maps and told us where to find the bus stop. The rooms are reasonably sized, the beds are comfy... More

Taking an early pre Easter break to Greece is always a risk...but we found our accommodation pretty good. The Popi Star was one of the only hotels open at this time of the year and suited our budget. All staff were helpful and friendly in this family run hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious ...and made up every day which... More

This hotel is very nice for the price you pay. The staff were friendly but confused. Rooms were basic but cleaned everyday. Could do with updating their furniture. Ideally located for all shops & restaurants with regular bus service. Short walk to pebble beach. Very pretty little village with friendly locals. Everything you would expect from a Greek village -... More

I went to this hotel for a week with my partner, booked online, looked nice... not nice at all! First of all when we pulled up on the coach outside the first thing we said was 'hope this isn't ours' awful. Nothing what it looked like on the photos. As we got inside the staff were friendly enough, we went... More

I arrived at this hotel at 12 midnight and there was a chap on reception waiting for me with full instructions of the breakfast and everything. He was not the happiest of peeps but at that time of night ....................... Bar was open 'till 1.30am so that was a plus. The rooms were spacious and basic but had a television... More
