Unlike "Miserable" (below, June 2014), I really appreciated little Gouvia - especially after I had gone by bus slightly north and seen Dassia and Ipsos and Benitses, 3 other seaside resorts. Gouvia is pretty: small, but has a bit of everything, shop- and restaurant-wise, even a little pharmacy as well, and a doctor if you need one, a lovely little... More

Have stayed in 5 star hotels and cruises, booked hotel popi star for a cheap long weekend to enjoy the island if Corfu . I knew it was 2 star so i am not disappointed. Very basic reception and bar area, but all very friendly and welcoming, and our room is actually fine. Basic but immaculately clean , clean towels... More

Again a great little 2Star hotel, the room was kept clean, every day, you don't get that from some 4Stars, the room has a fridge, and a shower that worked well with hot water all the 2 week stay. The breakfast was minimal as l expected for £10 a night, but fine, ham, cheese, bread, tined fruit, yogurt, cornflakes, good... More

I stayed here last week in september and i enjoyed my stay here, I would like to come back again. The room was big enough for 2 people, single beds together, tv toilet/bathroom and a small patio outside. Very well kept gardens and pool maintained good also. The bed was a bit hard and i was tossing and turning all... More

To be fair for a 2* hotel it was fine. Not too sure what people expect from a budget hotel!. The rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. I travelled alone last minute, there wasn't many hotels available as I didn't want to travel too far from the airport. The hotel is only a few... More

The pros: The room was large and clean and the bed was comfortable. The cons: Only occasional availability of hot water (and not on any occasion I tried). The breakfast is dismal: tasteless bread, cheapest kind of packet jam, and corn-flakes, which you eat in a stainless-steel bowl!!! Only nescafe on offer (no filter coffee). The worst feature though is... More

The hotelroom was small, the shower very small and without ventilation. Everything was quite basic but a plus was the small fridge in the room. The pool was simple but refreshing with good sun loungers. The breakfast was very simple and sober. The staff was very nice and helpful.

I booked a package deal through easyJet holidays so I didn't have any choice over which hotel I chose. When I read the reviews on Tripadvisor, it seemed fairly positive for a budget hotel. We arrived late evening and were shown immediately to our room, which was on the first floor, there are no lifts in the hotel so you... More

My family and I stayed in Corfu in April this year at this hotel just shy of the season starting in order to escape Easter holiday madness in England. I travelled with my mother, brother, nana and little sister. When we arrived at Popi Star I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the bar and reception area was when we... More

We were made to feel very welcome at this hotel. It was the Easter weekend and much of Gouvia was closed, but the staff went out of their way to provide us with information on places to go. They gave us maps and told us where to find the bus stop. The rooms are reasonably sized, the beds are comfy... More
