When I arrived at the hotel in the centre of lovely Saint-Lo, my first thought was one of worries. The exterior of the building is not much inspiring. My room overlooked the river Vire and you have a nice view on the town's centre. With some interior changes, the rooms can be made bigger as they are today (big bed,... More

Great wee place to explore this region of France. Stayed here on business for a few days, great access to road system. Rooms vary, initially I was assigned a junior suite which was nice, but during an extension I was moved to a more standard room, which wasn't as appealingly. Restaurant can get busy, but a good menu selection. Car... More

The Mercure hotel’s 1960’s type building is not particularly inspiring from the outside but does have a commanding position overlooking the river Vire and the historic town ramparts. The room appeared a little cramped compared to similar rated hotels I’ve stayed in. The layout may contribute to this feeling, maybe cramming in too much, (very large bed, television furniture, 2... Stayed here while conducting a battlefield tour for some Canadian friends. The staff were friendly and courteous. Rooms a good size. Comfortable beds. Location is just across the way from the ancient walls of St Lo. It is also at the centre of a road network which made it a prime objective for American forces in 1944 and led to... More

As part of a river cruise/coach trip tour, we stopped at The Mercure, St Lo for one night's dinner, bed and breakfast. Our room was very large, with a big ensuite, all spotlessly clean, a large, very comfortable bed and views from the windows over the road to the old fort. Although we were a part of a coach party... I was ready not to like this place, but my room was spacious enough, clean and comfortable; the free WiFi worked fast enough and the decor was fresh enough. The hotel overlooks the river, and the city walls, close to the centre with all the restaurants (although many are closed during the week). For the price I would readily stay... More

This Hotel worked perfectly for us. It was located with easy access to the rest of Normandy. There were restuarants nearby as well as a backery. The room was clean and had a great view of the fortifications. I would stay here again.
