Hotel is located on the meeting of 2 canals, so the view is fantastic day or night, so atmopheric. The hotel is on a busy street during the day, but at night there is barely any traffic, so no issue for sleeping. The foyer is rather odd in that you need to go up the stairs (no lift) with your... We chose the Grand Hotel in Sete solely for a canal view room and we were not disappointed. The hotel is located right at the meeting of the 2 main canals in Sete and the overriding reason to stay here is the view. The building itself is quite charming with a large covered courtyard and rooms on 4 floors surrounding... More

From a bygone era...elegant, comfortable and magnificently situated. Within walking distance from the main shopping era, the canals, the restaurant, the beach. The room are spacious and elegantly furnished, the centre atrium is from an Agatha Christie Novel. Locked parking is available. We didn't make use of the bar or restaurant

I spent three nights at Le Grand Hotel in Sete, having found it on Trip Advisor. I so hoped it would look as nice in person as it did in the photos, and it sure did. It is a beautiful old hotel that is beautifully kept up, well-run, small enough that you get excellent detailed service, but not too small.... More

We stayed in this hotel at the end of our holiday cycling along beside the canal de midi. This was an enjoyable and very exhausting trip. The Grand Hotel was situated in the centre of Sete overlooking the Canal. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. It was no problem to leave our very muddy bikes behind the front door.... More

I stayed for 5 days to explore the area around Sete. The location is excellent for visiting the town and market, the lobby is beautiful but I'd say the room was average. It was clean and the double doors to the balcony kept most of the noise out but it's on a busy street on the main canal. The air... More

I stayed here for two nights back in August, the location is fantastic; pretty much slap bang in the centre of a really beautiful town. Although the communal areas are finished to a really high standard, the rooms were all pretty depressing.. Cold, drab and creepy as hell... Trying to sleep was impossible both nights with the road noise being... More

We loved Sete. It's crowded and slightly edgy but full of character, a real working fishing town with a big influx of French tourists in the summer. The Grand overlooks the main canal. It's on a busy street, but offers parking in a dedicated garage a few doors away. First impressions are excellent: a cool lobby and a lovely inner... More

It is a fine city-centre hotel with some amazing architectural and artistic features, well located and with a nearby private car park. The décor is interesting, and the featured art and sculpture well worth viewing. Service was more than satisfactory and the room comfortable, with a fine view of the canals. Breakfast was far better than one would expect in... More

This is indeed a very beautiful hotel, with an inner court covered with a glass ceiling. Rooms are distributed around the inner court on three floors, and you access them via a balcony all around the inner court. The hotel reminds one of a traditional Spanish hotel, and this impression is enhanced by the presence of black wrought iron lamps... More
