We loved Sete. It's crowded and slightly edgy but full of character, a real working fishing town with a big influx of French tourists in the summer. The Grand overlooks the main canal. It's on a busy street, but offers parking in a dedicated garage a few doors away. First impressions are excellent: a cool lobby and a lovely inner... More

It is a fine city-centre hotel with some amazing architectural and artistic features, well located and with a nearby private car park. The décor is interesting, and the featured art and sculpture well worth viewing. Service was more than satisfactory and the room comfortable, with a fine view of the canals. Breakfast was far better than one would expect in... More

This is indeed a very beautiful hotel, with an inner court covered with a glass ceiling. Rooms are distributed around the inner court on three floors, and you access them via a balcony all around the inner court. The hotel reminds one of a traditional Spanish hotel, and this impression is enhanced by the presence of black wrought iron lamps... More

We chose Sete as a halfway stop on train trip back to Paris. Sete is a delightful town. The Grand Hotel is situated alongside the canal, 10-15 minute walk from the station. We chose a superior room with a canal view and balcony. It was simply, but nicely furnished with a large modern bathroom. The Hotel building itself was quite... More

Charming hotel, nice staff. Parking in a very narrow garage is only 10 euro/day. Get a room with a view of the canal. We had a juliette balcony overlooking the canal and it was very charming and quiet. The sheets were so clean and smelled beautifully and the room was small but very clean. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom was... More

Seems to have been refurbished recently but keeping the tone of the past. Lovely period feel to the lobby and atrium but rooms unfussy minimalism. Bars and seafood restaurants within short walk. An unusual place to stay but a delight

We stayed here for 2 nights in June and had a really lovely room on the top floor (341). Our room was large and modern and really well decorated and finished. The view from our small balcony was lovely, right at the intersection of the canals - it couldn't have been better. Reception was really helpful and friendly. We would... More

I have been booking Le Grand Hotel for more than 4 years now, always in the same days in July, and I have to say it gets better and better. I book double superior room, and I stayed in room 104, recently refurbished and with a new bathroom. The greatest view of the Canal, the quiet and spacious room with... More

Beautiful interior for a hotel with interesting art. Classic architecture and drinks are served in the lobby if you are looking for a nightcap after strolling the Canal du Midi. We did not have a chance to try the restaurant or the breakfast buffet, as we only had one night in Sete and were on a tight schedule. The staff... More
