Really enjoyed our stay at The Poachers Inn. Good food, good drink, good accommodation. A great base for exploring nearby towns and sights; with ample parking. If you're staying a busy period and intend to have dinner at the inn, its a good bet to book early (perhaps after chomping through a well cooked full English!)

I arrived at this hotel to check in 2 days after I had been camping in the New Forest so I was in rather a shabby state when I arrived. I am not sure whether this contributed to the rather "cool" welcome when i arrived. I stood at the bar and watched the landlady serve everyone she could before turning... More

Stayed for one night finding the hotel quite excellent with one or two minor irritations. How ever many flies we swatted there was always a couple more in the no 12 bedroom, the room was immaculate but oddly the shower needed a good scrub, and the evening meals were rather uninteresting and cooked without particular care. However the breakfast (presumably... More

Stayed for one night to break up the drive from London to Cornwall and see some local sights. The room was modern and tastefully decorated. The staff quickly made up a single mattress bed when it became apparent I had not booked correctly :) Quite impressed. The pool was a nice touch, very nice after a drive and some hill... More

We stayed for 1 night on a stop over to visit family. We had a suite which was very well decorated and exceptionally comfortable. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent. Will definitely be going back.

We only stayed here for one night and got a last minute deal. This is a place with a lot of character and the young, friendly staff were welcoming and made you feel at home. Our room was large and well equipped but was unfortunately above the kitchen which meant we were affected by a huge extractor fan positioned on... More

Although the location has nothing to offer without a car, be prepared to eat at accommodation - this is not a problem as food is very good. . The accommodation itself is excellent. Comfortable and decorated to a high standard. Get there early to make use of the pool. Comfortable lounge attached to bar to sit in and watch the... More

We stayed for 2 nights and had a great time, the rooms are around a court yard making it very dog friendly with the River Piddle running through the site, great cooling off for the dog! We booked for dinner, bed and breakfast. Good food but in hindsight if we went back would only book B&B as we were not... More

Just had a long weekend at the Poachers Inn staff nice and friendly good food, locals good for a laugh, had the pool all to our selves on Sunday then went to the village fete. Would recommend the rump steak for an evening meal. All in all a good weekend.

Unfortunately our schedule only allowed a one night stay. We were warmly welcomed and quickly checked in and shown to our room. Although we arrived shortly after the lunch service had closed we were able to order sandwiches which we ate in the lovely outdoor area. We had booked a suite which lived up to its description. It was spacious... More
