Our room was unclean, dated & cramped, accessed up metal fire escape stairs. Checked in around 2pm & was very disappointed with the room. We had no internet access/Wifi in the room. We were woken at 11.45pm, by the people below us who you could hear as clear as day, as they argued and talked to each other, all the... More

situated in a quiet village just outside dorchester. A very nice room & bathroom, although there was a bit of noise from the creaky floorboards late at night from the room above. Apart from that we had an enjoyable stay with friendley staff & nice food. Would stay again.

The hotels in Dorchester were out of our budget so we chose to stay here instead. The rooms are built around the beer garden, pool and smokers' hut. We asked for a quiet room and it was quiet but may not be during the warmer weather. Also the style is similar to American motel rooms with a walkway running along... More

Situated a few miles outside Dorchester there is a welcoming atmosphere at the Poachers Inn, animal friendly, the accommodation is clean and comfortable. Food is well cooked and not too expensive. We thought it was a drawback that the wifi reception was limited (only works in certain areas) but it turned out to be a bonus. A definite recommend.

This hotel is situated just north of Dorchester and ideally suited for visits to the south coast. The food is very good, and the staff very friendly and helpful, I would not hesitate to recommend this inn for a meal, or overnight stays.

We arrived chilled and tired. Our room was warm comfortable and really clean with lovely crisp white bed linen. The food served was great, and the staff were just so willing and friendly. I always think you can judge a really good place if the locals enjoy themselves there. They did. There was a warm friendly, comfortable atmosphere. Although we... More

We stayed one night at the Poachers Inn. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean, spacious and quiet. There is but one negative remark: the bath linen is worn and frayed. One of the bath towels even had a hole in it. High time to replace it, please.

We have just had a very enjoyable 2-night weekend break at The Poachers Inn. The staff were very courteous, the full english breakfast very well cooked and not greasy and the two meals we were served in the restaurant were excellent - our compliments to the chef. Room 3 was quite large, warm and comfortable. Minor detail but the ceiling/floor... More

I would like to say how dissapointed I am in the service we got and the quality of food . We had a groupon deal for a meal and got treated with no customer service, the food was below standard . We had the ham hock meal and I would call it a starter more than a main and the... More

Beware!!! We had to cancel two days before taking up the booking and were told we would have to pay the full price for the room we had booked. We explained that the cancellation was due to unforeseen family circumstances but the pub said we would have to pay the full amount for the room booking, not just the deposit.... More
