Hotel Cosmos is like a Spa castle from long ago, with the faded image of a luxurious past. It is in a very large building, spacious rooms and lots of facilities for keeping you fit and well. Diner quality was also high. What disappointed us was the wide variation in personnel: some were very friendly and helpful, others just did... More

What we liked: - The building. It was built at the beginning of the XX century to lodge the rich and famous, and was turned into a hospital during WWII for recovering German soldiers from the Eastern Front. With a little bit on a imagination, you can still hear the sound of the soldiers' boots clapping against the wooden floors.... More

This hotel was built at the start of the century and was clearly something very special at that time. Even now one gets a real impression of grandeur from the massive "grand staircase" and the enormously high ceilings in the public areas. Dinner was a menu of two, three or four courses: each course having a selection of 4 dishes.... More

We have made a stop here travelling north.Arriving at the hotel we were quite surprised. It looked like Carlsbad or Marienbad in the Czech Republic.Oldfashioned grand hotel with spa and wellness and people walking in bathing wraps. The hotel ,the rooms and the dining room are big.Service is correct but not overfriendly. The food in the restaurant was average, not very special. The rooms... More

The hotel was nice, kept and clean and quite grand. We didn't find the staff to be very friendly or helpful. We didn't get the room type we had booked, and although they told us this when checking in, we were not compensated for it. It is however a beautiful hotel in a good location. When it is busy, there... More

Cosmos seems to be high-class, luxury hotel which has deteriorated a little bit. The hotel is just off the center of Contrexeville, with parking outside. The rooms are huge - but little is done with the space, so the room feels empy. There is a double bed, an armchair, a long narrow desk with a chair and two nightstands. The... More

Yes this place looks like an old palace that needs refurbishments..But the rooms have been recently completely refurbished and smell of new and clean. The restaurant is good and the service very friendly. The front desk staff asked for my credit card details on a sheet of paper (because their system was down) but completely understood my immediate refusal. The... More

We used this hotel for one night coming back from the Provence. Room was standard but spacious with the right bathroom amenities. No Airco. Hotel has open air swimming pool which is great when it is hot outside as was the case during our stay. Restaurant is below expectations. Staff is friendly but chaos is the rule here. You get... On the road to our holiday adress in the south of France we needed an overnight hotel. Turning off the A31 at junction 9 (Bulgneville, Contrexeville) at around 20.30, we just drove into town (5 mins) and hit this hotel. Between has-probably-been-classy-once and easily-accessible-yet-very-comfortable. Simple but spacious room, not so up to date, but the bed was perfect and the... More

...because everything else is worse! Stayed for two weeks with full pension. The good thing is the cuisine. Good quality and the restaurant staff is really charming and they do anything to get what you want. The food is never boring. For the rooms go for the suites. Everything else is just good for one night. Decoration in the hotel... More
