We were simply in awe in how relaxing this place was. It's an open space filled with young couples, families, and solo backpackers, those who seek to recharge their batteries and those who wanted to explore some epic caves. You won't find belligerent drunk students partying into the wee hours here (or at least, we didn't). They were really helpful... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and did some tours in the surroundings. We definitely recommend visiting Phong Nha cave and the dark cave. We were a bit disappointed by the paradise cave. Bit of a tourist trap and very crowded. The farmstay is beautifully situated, great starting point for bicycle trips AND with a great view all by itself... More

We arrived as a family with two boys aged 5/7. We absolutely loved our time here. It was so relaxed, friendly and cool with a good mix of travellers from other families with kids to backpackers and friendly expat staff. The area is wonderful to explore by cycling or motorbikes and I can't recommend enough visiting the wild boar eco... More

Arriving late in the evening it was a relief to be shown to my gorgeous ensuite room where superb linen and bedding encouraged me to a quick and restful sleep. This quite palatial homestay is owned and managed most efficiently by Ben and Bich Mitchell who were always on hand to assure that their guests (it was a full house)... More

Disclaimer, it can be challenging to get to the farmstay but the trip has been 100% worth it. The setting is breathtaking and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable about everything Vietnamese! Would highly recommend the one day national park tour, $60 per person, as it was the single best thing we did in a month's trip through south East... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting the caves. The farm stay has a great location out next to the rice paddies with a view of the hills beyond. The family room we stayed in was immense and the beds were comfortable and draped with enormous mosquito nets (though there didn't seem to be many mosquitos about).... More

The building is great and the setting is amazingly beautiful. Movie night is fun, some of the food is very good (but overall not great by Vietnamese standards). If you contact the farmstay, you'll probably hear that they "don't cater to backpackers," and because of this, I expected a pretty professional staff. What I encountered was a catty, backpacker-hostel-type staff... More

The noise of ducks being waddled over the road catches your ears as your eyes follow the mountain range in the distance. Buffaloes graze near busy farmers and lucky holiday makers drink cold drinks on the roof top of the Phong Nha Farmstay. After days of high thirty degree heat in the windy and unforgiving quang binh landscape, rest in... More

As Aussie's we were somewhat concerned about what this place would be like. We have had some dreadful experiences of ex pats (Aussie's included) trying their hand in the guesthouse trade. To be honest we imagined the worse. Colonisation still exists in the third world however it is often sold as free enterprise these days. I am happy to say... More
