We only stayed the one night but we found the hotel room was clean and comfortable (super bed!) Check-in was a breeze and everything was well explained. We ate in the restaurant as it was included in our deal but I have to agree that if it hadn't been, I may have looked elsewhere as it was pricey, especially for... More

Used to visit this hotel on business when it was a Marriott (and prior to that a Swallow) hotel. It is still a good, centrally located hotel with some reasonable leisure facilities. Yes, some of the furniture (including TVs) and some of the gym equipment could do with updating but we found the staff to be very friendly and overall... More

We had booked this hotel for a weekend break because we could take our dog with us. The website promised a 'Luxury Hotel' which was 'Modern & Stylish' - nothing could be further from the truth. Whilst the reception was indeed modern & stylish, the rooms were anything but, with dated decor and even an old CRT television - even... More

Clean and tidy and staff mainly very good. Stayed on a travelzoo offer and reception forgot to provide the wine voucher on arrival, so thinking nothing of it had wine off the menu with dinner. On check out the offer wine was not discounted from our bill as it was not hotel policy to do so, so the stern faced... More

Reception, bar and restaurant are modern and welcoming. Staff are all polite and friendly. Food is lovely. Rooms are clean but they could do with furniture, carpet and TV updates. Pool and spa are relaxing. Hotel used for work conferences through the week so bar can get busy through the day, but there's plenty places to visit close by so... More

Perhaps not all but it is,mainly,a business destination.Having said that,we have no complaints. The room was comfortable, dinner was good(with excellent service)and, though breakfast is buffet style,it was better than average for this type. One special mention:Kelly checked us in and was excellent.Everything was fully explained in a professional but friendly manner.Brilliant!

My first impression of the hotel, as I entered the reception, is that this is a very nice place. Until I entered my room. Very dated, the TV was an old cathode ray model that gave poor picture quality. There was a hole in the carpet and the radiator was not fitted to the wall straight. The decor and furniture... More

Went to this hotel in April for a weekend break with a Groupon voucher. Been here few times before but when it was a Marriott hotel. Pleasantly surprised that things have not really changed since the new owners took over. The staff are polite, the rooms comfortable and the food is delicious. The swimming pool and changing rooms are very... More

I arranged an away day for 10 people, dinner on the Thursday followed by all day meeting on Friday. Pretty well organised, allocated a specific host on the Friday. Food was good in the restaurant and meeting room (Chatsworth) was quiet and well equipped. Invoice for rooms and meeting had to be split which can be a pain depending on... More

Had a great weekend at this hotel and was impressed by the young enthusiastic staff who helped make this such a good break on our way to Scotland. The level of customer service was excellent and could teach many other hotels a thing or two. I used the pool and enjoyed a relaxing swim in the warm water, there is... More
