This was the only budget hotel in Gangtok. I'm glad I only stayed one night. I had the choice btw a damp, claustrophobic room without window for 500 or the damp, dirty dorm for 130. I opted for the latter. I felt as if i were in a ghost house, I didn't move even in my sleep. The bathrooms were... More

Up on Tibet road, run by the mercurial Llama, one second your friend, one second bad mouthing other guests behind their back. The rooms are fine, concrete floored affairs and the bathroom gushes hot water which always nice. Go for a front facing room, the back rooms are unbearably dank and wet, the mattresses reek. Out front the rooms are... More

Gangtok is a lovely city, but if you stay here your experience will be marred. Please stay anywhere but here! The rooms are cheap but what you get isn't even worth 500rp. We are budget travellers and have been in India for a few months but have never stayed anywhere as unclean, run down and depressing as this place. Taps... More

This is a backpacker's favourite, but mostly because all the hotels nearby are either perennially full or refuse foreigners. This hotel is so poorly run you can probably easily escape without paying (not that I'd recommend it). Food orders take forever, and the cheaper rooms are just dreadful. However, if you manage to get a room facing the street, they... More

So luckily i managed to drop in when the season wasn't "on". Meaning, even if you opt for the dormitory, you have it all to yourself. It was brilliant. And Budha, the man with the plan will help you out like your best friend :)

Friendly staff and a great cafe at ground level to meet and greet many a traveller...parking for motorcycles just fine...rooms are simple but could use some upgrading after all these years of serving the backpacker genre though...hot water by the bucket only but linen in pretty good order...Sadly downstairs is noisy with drunken people and street dogs in the night... Budget hotel, the rooms are basic however beds, sheet, toilets are clean, hot water. The rooms overlooking the street bright. The other rooms inside is dark, well ventilated. The common room is in the restaurant so rooms are quiet. The staff is friendly, very nice, helpful fun andspeak English. The kitchen is clean and food is good. Arrange tour, the... More
