Very well maintained, still holds the old world charm, just loved it. Travelled with my family and mom, stayed at Karikal Suit. Food is marvellous and location amazing. Great location makes it an ideal place for early morning stroll. with some nice and decent restaurants around, but thats not needed since the Hotel restaurant itself serves amazing food. Loved the... If looking for a room in the heart of white town, you can consider this property. Be sure to request a room in the main building as there are few rooms in an adjoining building, though not connected to the main hotel. The Breakfast buffet could do with some improvement.

Centrally located in the French Quarter where most sights are, L'Orient is charming and beautifully decorated with period antiques and furniture and staffed with very cheerful, helpful and attentive people. Heartily recommend it. However the sister property L'Tamoule in the Tamil Quarter is a beautifully restored old mansion well worth a visit but the location in what is the usual... More

While our (my mum and I) walks around the main town of Pondicherry were exhausting, because of the traffic, noise and general public, knowing that we were coming back to Hotel de L'Orient was a huge respite. Our trip to Pondicherry would've been a complete bummer, had our stay not been so pleasant. Courteous staff A sumptuous in-house (free) breakfast... More

Great hotel and great location. Close to beach and in a leafy suburb with beautiful french colonial buildings. The rooms have an old charm with antiique furniture and french paintings. Bathrooms are basic but okay. Meals are served in the garden patio and the breakfast is lovely. Staff are very helpful and it was a nice and unusual experience. Many... More

This hotel was created from the shell of an 18th century mansion in the heart of Pondicherry (now called Puducherry), on a narrow tree-lined street reminiscent of France, and the former rulers of the area. The policemen here still wear kepis like French gendarmes, and many of the buildings still have their names up in French; Foyer des Soldats, Hotel... More

We have visited India many times, but had never visited Pondicherry. When we planned this trip I wanted to experience the old French colonial ambience mixed in with the warmth of India. I was so pleased when I discovered this hotel on the Neemrana website. We stayed for 3 comfortable nights in the lovely Chandernagor suite on the first floor.... More

Its a beautiful, quaint little hotel. Limited rooms, all styled with old furniture and paintings. We stayed in Arcot room, which has its private small courtyard. Very tastefully maintained, especially the main courtyard where food is served. This hotel is just a few minutes to the beach front. Do try out this hotel for a quiet, peaceful stay.

A great place to stay and to escape the frantic pace of India. We were in the annex - don't be put off by this - it's a lovely room just round the corner from the hotel, very peaceful and we had our own key so it felt like our own place!

The old house is very nice and charming with an inner courtyard with trees. I think all rooms are different with old furnitures. You can walk to the beachpromenade in 3 minutes. Just out of the hotel you are in very nice streets. Wifi in the room.
