I stayed here with local colleagues. They use this hotel all of the time because it is clean, good location, and reasonably priced. A colleague of mine paid $20 for his 'twin' non riverview room. My 'double' riverview room was $30 a night. Breakfast was not provided but there are so many places locally. On arrival, the hotel is next... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights on the recommendation of Cambodians in our travelling party & was not disappointed. The rooms were both clean & comfortable especially the bed. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the river. As other reviewers have mentioned there`s no food however SMILE restaurant next door (run by Buddhist monks to train... More

This hotel was very comfortable, clean, and overlooked the Mekong River. We had a pleasant stay for one evening. Food is not served at this hotel, but there are plenty of eateries nearby including the Smile Restaurant (a training restaurant) which offered good service and food.

We knew Kampong Cham accommodation was lower standard than Siem Reap, so had low expectations. We were pleasantly surprised by room size and cleanliness. There was a mini fridge, kettle, and one room had a balcony overlooking the Mekong. One of our 2 rooms had an odour which wasn't great, but liveable (we wondered if they used strong perfumes to... We were told that decent hotels are hard to find in Kampong Cham. We stayed one night at the VIP hotel. The amenities are pretty basic, there is no restaurant nor is breakfast served. Cleaning is also pretty average. The rooms do have a nice view on the Mekong river and if you are into heavy rococo wooden furniture with... More

Compared to the other hotels around the area, Monorom VIP was the best hotel for our family. The staff were quite friendly; the rooms were clean; and every piece of furniture was new. The next time we go back to Kampong Cham, we will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Over-furnished, no atmosphere, unhelpful staff, no restaurant. The hotel has all mod cons but seems to be trying too hard to be something that it is not. OK if you want a sterile environment with no character.

We have stayed at the Monorom VIP before. When we first went there in 2009, the rooms were reasonably priced for what they offered. We have been back every year since, but this year, the hotel had sharply declined in its maintenance and standards. All three of us had plumbing problems in our rooms which were not attended to, though... More

Lovely hotel right across the road from the Mekong. For $30 we had a riverfront room with a balcony to sit out on and watch the river roll by. Spotless room, everything changed daily with amazing heavy carved furniture and bed. The staff were friendly and breakfast is easily sourced from many local cafes. We stayed 5 nights as using... I stayed here one night in October 2013. The hotel lobby is quite well appointed and visually appealing. The staff are friendly and speak excellent English. The rooms were not amazing, but more than adequate for an overnight trip. By Kampong Cham standards, this is a very nice hotel. I would stay here again if in the city on business.
