Stayed at this hotel as part of a Geckos Tour. Given that this isn't really a tourist town - more a stop over on the way between Phnom Penh and Siam Rep - I didn't have high expectations and this was a good thing. On the whole it was fairly average. Had AC, but it didn't get super cold. Bathroom... More

Paid 8usd for their cheapest fan rooms on the ground floor. Not too noisy, huge and clean (though aging) bathroom, good water pressure, one fan over each of the 2 bed, small tv, old but effective moskito net. Pleasant stay (in fact we came back a second time). Nothing to complain about. As long as your expectations are not too... More

What you would expect for an 8 dollar room, shower was hot, room was spacious. Wi-fi worked in our room as we were close to the lobby. rooms further away would not get it. Great location near the riverside, lots of nice restaurants down there - try the lazy mekong daze!

This hotel is reputedly owned by the son of the Prime Minister, which is possibly sufficient reason to find somewhere else to stay. On the other hand the girl on reception was very pleasant and helpful, and we organised our onward travel and a motorbike for the afternoon at the same time as checking in; she also had the patience... The Mekong Hotel was our first experience of Cambodia. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us comfortable. The hotel has huge, eerie corridors that are big enough for 5-a-side football. For the price it's a decent room with a balcony and a good location on the riverside and 5 minutes walk from the market. Smile Restaurant is nearby -... More

Stayed here recently for a night and it's not a bad location just in front of the river and a short walk away to a few decent enough restaurants and bars. The rooms are clean and not a bad size and mine had a balcony and nice view of the river which was good! It is true that the corridors... More

Reviewers and guide books go on about the corridors, and yes, they are wide. My room, bathroom and breakfast were unremarkable and a bit tired - just about OK. I don't know how much it costs as I was on a group trip with accommodation included, but it seems from the other reviews that it's cheap, so you get what... More

Opposite Mekong River and the sunset and sunrise are simply stunning! Awesome view. Awesome room. Room is big and clean and we got the room with connecting corridors with the rest of family members. Toilet is big and clean too. Staff doesn't speak English but its alright since we stayed for 2 nights only.

My $8 fan room was clean and reasonably comfortable. No river view, but decent views of town from room's balcony. WiFi doesn't work in the room, but is fine in the lobby. Staff were friendly and pleasant. A decent deal..
