I stayed here with Intrepid tours and I'm not sure if it's the lack of hotels in the area or this is just one of the better ones.. It looks grand from outside but inside the set up is kind of strange and run down. The corridors are huge, big enough to kick around a ball and it's very quiet,... More

exceptional hotel, very clean ,large hallways, and very well priced. riverview double rooms with aircon $18. fan double rooms $8. very helpful staff, and all night security, not that it is needed. 1st appearances would suggest it is very expencive, but not the case. second time I have stayed there.

On our arrival to Kampong Cham I and my husband checked out a few guesthouses, which all offfered rather dirty and dark room in the price range 5-7$. Compared to them Mekong Hotel was a great value with the spacious rooms, hot showers and clean bed sheets. It was the most silent place in our journey across Asia. We stayed... More

We arrived to a very large hotel, very run down from the outside, vast open wasted space inside but for one night it was great. We ate and drank at curbside restaurants very close by, the bamboo bridge for our bike ride was very close too.

I stayed for one night while attending a wedding in Kampong Cham with my husband. We chose the Mekong Hotel out of nostalgia because we stayed there in 2008, when it was pretty much the only hotel in town. The receptionist spoke very good English. We had the "expensive" A/C + balcony room. We had a room on the 3rd... More

Stayed at this hotel as part of a Geckos Tour. Given that this isn't really a tourist town - more a stop over on the way between Phnom Penh and Siam Rep - I didn't have high expectations and this was a good thing. On the whole it was fairly average. Had AC, but it didn't get super cold. Bathroom... More

Paid 8usd for their cheapest fan rooms on the ground floor. Not too noisy, huge and clean (though aging) bathroom, good water pressure, one fan over each of the 2 bed, small tv, old but effective moskito net. Pleasant stay (in fact we came back a second time). Nothing to complain about. As long as your expectations are not too... More

What you would expect for an 8 dollar room, shower was hot, room was spacious. Wi-fi worked in our room as we were close to the lobby. rooms further away would not get it. Great location near the riverside, lots of nice restaurants down there - try the lazy mekong daze!

This hotel is reputedly owned by the son of the Prime Minister, which is possibly sufficient reason to find somewhere else to stay. On the other hand the girl on reception was very pleasant and helpful, and we organised our onward travel and a motorbike for the afternoon at the same time as checking in; she also had the patience... The Mekong Hotel was our first experience of Cambodia. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us comfortable. The hotel has huge, eerie corridors that are big enough for 5-a-side football. For the price it's a decent room with a balcony and a good location on the riverside and 5 minutes walk from the market. Smile Restaurant is nearby -... More
