The first day we arrived my first impression was what a beautifully decorated lounge area, when we were escorted to our room I was quite disappointed very basic, very small, ensuite basic no shower curtains or plugs for sink or bath. There wasn't even a holder for the shower head so showering was quite difficult to do. After unpacking we... more

My boyfriend andd I booked to stay at The Golden Sun Hotel from the 5th Oct. The Hotel is down a road running between the main street of Kalamaki and the beach so easy access to both. The hotel is clean, with basic accommodation. Reception staff not so friendly as restaurant staff. The barman took his time to open in... more

We are an early 30s couple staying for 12days. We were originally booked to stay at the Bitzaro Grande however 1 week prior to the holiday they told us they were now overbooked and were cancelled. Very let down to say the least. We were offered The Golden Sun as a replacement (be warned, there were many others in our... more

Hotel not 3+* - 2* maybe. Staff OK, some appear abit moody at times, but overall OK. Actual complex nice but rooms need alot of work - don't look like they've been touched in years. No sound-proofing (constant banging, dragging of furniture from other rooms), leaky roof, taps, broken toilet etc, next to laundry room, so always noisy. Security not... more

+ Nice pool area + Nice cleaning + Close to beach - Jumbojets flying through the rooms 24/7, impossible to sleep properly in rooms closest to the runway. - Smaller rooms than in the photos. - Terrible beds, my back started to ache after a couple of days. - Occasional explosion sounds from the bathroom pipes a couple of times... more

There was some noise from aircraft but to watch them go overhead was amazing. The location was good but don't go on the day long boat... more
