Omashare Hotel has wifi, peacocks and a pool along with a bar and restaurant. The beautifully kept grounds overlook the Kavango river and Angola from an elevated position on the Namibian side. Our landrover, mVubu, (mVubu=Hippo in Zulu) water pump seized coming out of the Caprivi Strip so our running mate towed us the last 60km into Rundu. Advance Truck... More

Omashere for me is my no.1 option when I come to Rundu. Rundu doesnt have the best lodges so this is the better one. Free Wifi by the lobby.its not all that fancy its simple but it get the job done for me. So you can go check it out but like I say when you come to Rundu you... More

Conveniently located right in the centre of Rundu, Omashare is a logical stopover on a trip in Northern Namibia. But I suspect you can do better. The rooms are very ordinary and the service merely "adequate". I was traveling for business and the agent booked me. If I could choose myself I would explore other options. Dinner was good and... A brief stopover and rather disappointed. Rooms in desperate need of a face lift. Food was excellent but reception staff need some training in customer relations. Felt we were a nuisance by booking in when they finally decided to deal with us. However the restaurant staff were pleasant.. The advertisements give the impression of closer proximity To the river.

We just stayed one night there but we're very lucky to discover one of the best restaurant of our trip. This was surprisingly a real Portuguese meal of the best quality we ever had outside Portugal, including Europe.

Omashare Lodge has been our oasis for some time when travelling from the North of Namibia tor some time and desrves a mention. It seems as if the owners have started with some development and upgrading and we hope it will flow over into the rooms which needs some attention. For a basic short stopover this is an ideal place,... More

Needs a face lift! And new beds and linen and carpets! and showers in en-suites! Food is good. Beer is cold. Water is hot. Decor in rooms is in desperate need of an up-grade. Wi-fi can be improved and smoking should be restricted to outside only. The birds, chickens and pea-cocks add a unique scene.

Whilst we haven't stayed here for many years as we now stay with friends in town, we always make sure we spend an hour on the verandah every afternoon during our annual visits to Rundu and enjoy sundowners whilst overlooking the Kavango River and Angola. The grounds are immaculate and the resident peacocks provide amusement. Drinks are very reasonably priced.

Lock your suitcase as sticky fingers get into it. The food is ok but the owner and her staff are untrained, unprofessional and has a lot to learn! Other than that the view and pool are nice!!! The meeting room is in a good location but due for an upgrade! All and all not the best stay I've ever had.

The Lodge has a wonderful view over the kavango river. A nice pool with a big grass area around. The rooms are comfortable with TV and aircon. But there is no gaze against moskitos in the room. Neither a mioskitonet. Food is good and available from 25 to 105 N$.
