Beautifully clean and well appointed spacious rooms with a great spa room to soak the trail bruises away. Ranfurly hotel meal was very nice. Quiet and excellent sleep close to the trail. Bike storage and breakfast room with basic continental.

What a lovely surprise! Have travelled for a few days around Central Otago, the accomodation at Hawdun Lodge would have to be the best so far! Such a treasure ! We chose the Studio Spa Unit - a must for any couple passing through. Thanks Richard for the amazing service you provide.

We recently stayed at Hawkdun lodge as part of a large group of 18. Dave from Cycle Surgery arrived after transporting us from Clyde and gave us brilliant advice and instructions for the trail. The rooms were spacious, clean and had all the little extras needed to make a really comfortable stay. We met the lovely owners during breakfast which... More

This was by far the best accommodation on the Rail Trail, fantastic service, comfy clean and stylish rooms, great breakfast room which was lovely to mix with other guest if you wanted to. The shower and products were wonderful. There was a laundry for us to give our clothes a much needed wash after a few days cycling! Richard the... More

Arrived in Ranfurly late expecting to have to bunk down at the local pub only to find this lovely motel. Beautiful rooms but the great thin I thought was the communal kitchen and lounge . Designed ex for groups but so up market huge lounge with a catering sized designer kitchen prfctfor for large groups doing the rail trail the... More

We stayed for one night while biking the Otago Rail Trail. We were impressed with the size, comfort and cleanliness of the room, the friendliness of the hosts and the cleanliness of the kitchen facilities. And they had free wifi. Would definitely stay again.

stayed for a night and were disappointed. The room was large and clean but the only door/window opened directly onto the footpath. We couldn't leave it open during the night for fresh air at all. Also the curtains weren't thick enough so we had the streetlight shining all night. The breakfast was ordinary. The good- bike shed and laundry provided... More

Hi Helen Thank you for your feedback. There are two opening windows in the unit and it is remiss of us that we did not point that out to you. I am sorry about this. The street light you refer to has recently been renewed and now seems to be creating more light in the room at night. We are... More

We spent a night here while riding the Otago Rail Trail. The Motel is just off the trail and has all the facilities needed, and more. The rooms are spacious with high quality linen, fixtures and fittings. There is a huge comfortable bed which provided an exrtremely good night's sleep. The bike storage room was unexpected and a good bonus,... More

Spent a lovely night in a studio unit in Ranfurly. The unit was spacious, comfortable super king bed and beautifully presented with all the amenties. Nice touches to the motel including naming each room after a local feature. Also a good option for those wanting to self cater with a separate large kitchen/dining/lounge unit available for guest use. The host... More

We had driven from Queenstown without a plan for accomodation & ended up in Ranfurley. Considering we had no booking we were very well looked after. The acxomodation was very clean & tidy, the beds were exceptionally comfortable. Good value breakfast. Pleasant obliging hosts. If we are in the area again we would make this a stop. Recommend
