This is a very well located property, only a few minutes walk to everything you'll want to see. Expect a hotel style room complete with private washroom, a park like private lawn in the back and breakfast every morning. The people couldn't be nicer, the property couldn't be cleaner or better maintained.

Since we were planning one night in Tlaquepaque the day we arrived, we decided to try something new. Upon arriving, the owners were very accommodating with our reservation and their parking arrangements. While not huge, our room was comfortable and small details like quality towels were certainly appreciated! The continental breakfast was a nice touch and we would definitely recommend... More

I was in Tlaquepaque for just about an hour or so a few years back whilst staying in Ajijic & knew that one day I wanted to return. Well I had a chance just a couple of weeks ago & stayed At La Casa del Retono. When the taxi arrived at the door I was wondering if this really was... More

Best "huevo rancheros" I have EVER eaten, and I live in California where there's lots of good Mexican food. Note: egg dishes at breakfast cost 25 pesos, the basic breakfast is free. Exceptionally helpful and friendly hosts, great location, reasonably priced.

There is not a lot more to add to the other reviewers' posts. While we were hesitant because we are not fans of B&B's and the potential company at the large breakfast table, we were relieved when we met the owners, the mother-in-law, the young daughter, and of course "Rabbit" the rabbit. We were fortunate that the communal breakfast was... More

I spent 2 weeks here in November, and was delighted with my stay. My room was comfortable and clean, and the hotel is charming. In typical colonial style, the front wall is on the property line, and the door from the street opens to reveal the hidden gem inside. The owners, who live on property, are attentive without being intrusive.... More

We stayed at La Casa del Retono for several days during July 2013. What a delight! If you like quiet, greenery and warm and friendly hosts, this is your place. Additionally, the design and decorative details will satisfy your aesthetic sense. We enjoyed our stay here very much, and appreciated the daily breakfast option, as well as Luis and his... More

This suited me for a number of reasons. I wanted an inexpensive yet clean and comfortable place to stay in a good location. I got that. I didn't need many amenities because I didn't need plan to be indoors much. I liked the cosy and homey atmosphere without the overly involved or imposing feeling that can happen in such a... More

We stayed here twice and were very happy both times. First stay in room called Veracruz for 4 nights and later on spent our last night in Mexico in the room across the way - don't remember the name. What impressed us was the colorful decor, comfortable rooms, friendly hosts and the pet rabbit. My only caution would be that... More

If you're looking for an American-style, all mod cons, hotel go elsewhere. If you want somewhere with character in a quiet, well-cared for house stay here. The rooms are small but there is ample space in the garden and on patios to sit and talk or read or do nothing. For families, the back garden is a fantastic bonus, with... More
