This was my first trip to Mexico and so I didn't know what to expect. Having traveled internationally to Europe and Asia I had the common sense not to compare Mexican culture and society to my own life in the USA - that would be like comparing Apples to Oranges. I was, however, quite impressed with "La Villa del Ensueno";... more

This Hotel is NOT in the nice refurbished and picturesque part of Tlaquepaque so you feel a little cheated by the location. It's surrounded by what feels like warehouses and/or abandoned buildings and is a good 10 minute walk thru an ugly neighborhood to the beautiful part of Tlaquepaque and a lengthy 20 minute taxi ride to anything else of... more

The hotel is beautiful. There are two buildings across a very quiet street from each other. Each has a pool- nice! The room included a very nice breakfast and welcome drink. The room had a TV with a million channels, very good air conditioning and nice bathroom. Otherwise, it was kind of plain. I think there were other nicer rooms,... more

I stayed here 4 years ago and the staff was great but the rooms were a little tired and worn. This time I would say that the room was great. We had a room in the main building upstairs on the front. It was a very spacious room, well appointed with a king size bed. We arrived in the afternoon... more

We originally had a reservation in Guadalajara at La Tapatio, but apparently they "lost" our reservation and were sold out. Last minute, we were able to get reservations at this property. First of all, the staff was very helpful in giving us directions over the phone (a little difficult to find!). Once we arrived, Annabelle was very gracious in welcoming... more

This is a boutique hotel in the colonial pueblo of Tlaquepaque, an artist´s community that is close enough to be part of the city of Guadalajara. The hotel is within walking distance to el Centro and convenient to the fine arts stores, restaurants, and historical catédral. Rooms are located on both sides of the narrow calle Florida with pool &... more

My wife and i have just returned from a most satisfying visit to La Villa del Ensueno in Tlaquepaque, Mexico. Our trip was for seven nights and absolutely perfect. The del Ensueno commitment to customer service started with the staff who responded to our email questions even before we departed from the US. The staff told us about hotel amenities... more

We had a delightful 10-day stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it if you are looking for a bed and breakfast type experience. We became nervous approaching the hotel by taxi as the neighborhood looks pretty run down but soon realized that views from the street are deceptive. It was an absolutely safe area and the property was delighful. Every... more

We stayed here for a couple nights before leaving Guadalajara. What a find. The place is beautiful. The people are the best. Daniel, the bartender, has some great recommendations on restaraunts and is really helpful. I had the fortunate experience of spending some time talking with the owner of the hotel - Vincente, I believe. He has some great stories... more

My family was fortunate enough to have been bumped from our connecting flight to Puerto Vallarta and as a result ended up spending the night in Tlaquepaque. My wife did some research and discovered La Villa del Ensueno. What a great find. The staff is very nice and we found the simplicity of the accomodations to our liking. The inn... more
