The most upscale choice for golf in the Sotogrande area. I was in the area inspecting hotels and courses for my epicurean golf travel business (CORK & TEE). We either played or visited all the courses in the area. The best in order are Valderamma, Sotogrande, The Reserve, Almenara and San Roque (OLD & NEW). Investment in the latter property has lapsed in our opinion.

The hotel is perched near the top of coastal mountain range and offers great views to the coast and the adjacent mountain range. It's very peaceful and the approach through an upscale golf residential community is quite attractive. The lobby and bar and spacious and the upstairs restaurant offers a great breakfast buffet with the option to sit on the terrace with great views.

Without question, this spot is isolated. Estepona is 15 mins away and more action is 45 minutes away in Marbella, which is quite developed, but has an interesting old town with plenty of shopping and restaurants... more
