We were made to feel very welcome as soon we arrived, despite getting stuck in traffic and arriving much later than we had planned. I cannot really fault the hotel at all... charming rooms, decorated beautifully, fabulous food and fantastic pool and grounds. The children loved their stay in a castle and we cannot wait to back! Highly recommended.

Beautiful chateau that has been subtly renovated into a boutique hotel. Breakfast was extensive and the hosts were professional and friendly. Lovely setting about 35 mins walk from town. The plumbing was a bit erratic - but then you should expect that in something of this age! The decanter of pommeau on arrival was a lovely touch.

We stayed at the Chateau for a few wet and windy days in August. It is a beautiful hotel, run by the most incredibly welcoming and helpful oweners and staff. The chateau itself is gorgeous, an old, creaky picture of a place with some lovely sitting rooms and characterful bedrooms if ours was anything to go by. It has an... More

We stayed for one night travelling back from holidays in the south. Our room was unique and had a spectacular bed, it was also beautifully furnished however everything felt a little faded. Curtains had a large number of watermarks and were grubby, a small carafe of pommeau was a nice touch however the stopper was chipped meaning small shards of... More

You must stay here if you're in the area. Actually travel to this hotel from far away, it's that good. The rooms, the welcome, the gardens, the dinner everything was fantastic. Swimming pool was a little nippy but a minor point. Would be a good place to bring kids too as there's a massive garden with trampoline, badminton, ping pong,... More

Everything about this place is just wonderful. The Chateau itself is really stunning with lots of history. The gardens are huge and there are lots of places to sit outside, plus the pool is really lovely if you have good weather. We stayed in Chambre du Parc with views over the garden, a lovely comfortable bed and en-suite bathroom upstairs... More

My husband & I spent the last night of our holiday in France at chateau st Paterne. It was a perfect end to our holiday. A beautiful setting, with gracious hosts and sublime food. I wish we had longer to take advantage of the facilities at the hotel & to explore the area. We will definitely return & will recommend... More

Stayed overnight on route to our holiday destination. Absolutely stunning chateau. We arrived late on a Friday evening and the owners provided dinner for us in the beautiful dining room. This is a very beautiful and peaceful place to stay in Alencon, France. We enjoyed the grounds and the lovely French dinners and breakfasts. The owners are quite friendly and accommodating. We really loved this place.

We have just spent the last two weeks in France staying in Paris and travelling into Normandy and the Loire valley. The Chateaux de Saint Peterne is undoubtedly the highlight of our journey... The 500 year-old Chateaux has been in the de Valbray family since inception and has been beautifully restored. It is situated outside Alencon and comprises a main... More
