Was my second time to stay in Legends in Malapascua. Unfortunately the first time experience was better compared to this time. Stayed in a super deluxe room and the room is quite big. Too bad there were so many Mosquitos sharing the room with us. Shower didn't work properly. Aircon was working but is rather noisy. TV/cable channel didn't work... More

We stayed there overnight and stayed at the native room. The rooms smells as if its not touched for centuries. We asked for air freshener waited for hours and we are just informed that they don't have air freshener. The air-con on the native room is not working well..

The hotel is situated in front of the beach itself. It has its own pool where you can swim after enjoying the beach. The rooms are big and good enough for 4 to 5. The restaurant inside the hotel is just okay. We looked around the area and I can say that the hotel is one of the best in... More

This beach hotel is pretty OK for the island. We went there for diving, so did not need too much of comfort. The rooms are large, they have aircon and are reasonably clean. The showers are OK, but the water is a little bit salty. The hotel has it's own swimming pool which looked appreciated by other guests (I did... More

We spent 4 nights at this hotel. The room was large and had A/C (a bit noisy) and a good sized bathroom with hot water. The room was fairly clean with some old stains on the bed sheets. We were provided with fresh towels every day. The hotel has a good sized pool and is located right on the beach.... More

In comparison to other resorts on the island this one is nice and is has it's own pool. Rooms are average but with spacious showers. Can be loud with local animals and randomly with people driving up on their mopeds and diving into the pool in the middle of the night?! Staff are friendly but we had problems with our... More

Ok but needs some improvement in a few areas; consistency with the rooms. We all paid the same but it varied and the little things make an experience! As per previous comments we tried to eat in the restaurant and on our first night the BBQ was fantastic but the other times the food service was slow and there was... More

I'm disappointed by some of the previous reviews, which make no allowance whatsoever for the true scale of devastation that the typhoon caused to Malapascua Island. We stayed at the Legend resort in January and found the room clean and well-appointed, the staff courteous and the assistant manager an absolute star who couldn't go out of his way enough to... More

We booked there just last New Year's (end of December to early January) complete with my whole clan (about 27 of us in total). Here's the skinny: PROS 1. Rooms are excellent - large and spacious rooms with a large closet, dresser, lots of chairs, with powerful aircon units, flatsceen TVs, some rooms have refrigerators, and hot running water. There's... More

We were at a next door resort and decided we would try to go for diner in another one. The style and decoration style is totally tacky. The menu is absolutely not inspiring. My fellow followers were lucky we were there on an barbecue evening. I didn't feel like barbecue and not being inspired by any other dish, I settled... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Malapascua Island is situated two and a half hours away by car and four hours away by bus from the city of Cebu. A barangay of the town of Daanbantayan, Malapascua Island takes pride in its world class diving spots and pristine white sand beaches. It is widely referred by locals as the "Boracay of Cebu." As a diving destination, Malapascua Island has become known for its beautiful coral gardens and excellent local dive spots, as well as further out sites like Gato Island, Monad Shoal, and Kemod Shoal. Monad Shoal is an underwater plateau where thresher sharks and manta rays can be seen on a regular basis. The town's name is derived from two Spanish words, "mal" and "pascua", which translated in English means, "bad" and "Easter" or bad Christmas. According to locals, the Spaniards named the island that way after they arrived there on a stormy Christmas. Malapascua Island is a promise of a great dive and a relaxing beach experience, making it a popular travel destination for local and foreign tourists alike. ... more   less
