The place is good. The rooms are fine, there's no tv though. The staff, particularly in the reception and restaurant area are very nice. The owner of the resort is really really friendly and accomodating. We hoped to have a long chat but we only stayed there for 1 night. But surely there's more to see in this island. Great... More

Here we are for the first time in the Philippines and we decided to mix two loves. Diving and holidaying.checked lot of resorts out on line before we chose the purple snapper resort. Every one is still rebuilding after the typhoon to some extent but resort has done it well. The diving with the shark are a true highlight of... More

My friend and I planned to stay in Malapascua for one night, eventually stayed for three because we had such a great time in the resort . The good experience started after we were wondering around the island to find a decent place (clean and not expensive) to stay and we got to "Purple Snapper", the owners welcomed us with... More

I booked this hotel via booking.com for 1200 peso. I was a bit annoyed to then find out they also did double rooms for 800 and 900 peso. My room was very basic. One dim light which didn’t illuminate the luggage rack so you need a torch to look in your bag! I chose a room with fan not aircon.... More

Budget-friendly, no frills service..a stone's throw away from the beach(not beachfront but still ok). Pool is ok. The staff are generally courteous and accommodating (which is expected, of course).Rooms are ok as well. I'm one happy camper!

Before we arrived at Malapascua Island, me and my friend looked up for an affordable place to stay since we know that we'll be staying more outside (beach, island hopping, snorkeling) than inside a resort. And we found one. We took the backpackers room, which was really affordable (around 800 Php) - made out of nipa, a fan (which is... More

After reading about the fantastic diving in Malapascua, my Dad and I decided to spontaneously go up there from Mactan Island. Unfortunately, we weren't going to be able to get to the resort until late at night and the transit boats from Cebu island and Malapascua island would not run. HOWEVER, after calling the Purple Snapper Resort and discussing the... More

Stayed here for 3 nights last August. This is not by the beach, you have to walk about 2-3 minutes to get to the beachfront. Overall had a pleasant time. Only complaint I can think of is that they had a lot of food unavailable on their menu when we were there. So some of us (myself included) decided to... More

We went there on June 2, 2013. There were 4 of us in our group. the owner arranged our pickup from Maya port after a long road travel from Cebu City. Here are some of the outstanding things I observed when we arrived: 1.) The owners are very accommodating and welcoming but not intrusive (I really like that) 2.) It... More

The room I got was for backpackers - P800/night. It was a cute nipa hut, had a wall fan, no t&b, big bed, just 1 window. I like the resort because its very "native" plus it has a swimming pool, billboards table (free use) and free brekky with unlimited coffee and juice! But what I didn't like about is that... More
